Re: Pontoon Seat Rebuild and Reupholstery Job

got around to dry fitting my inside pieces today, with the 2 angles of the seats it ends up being a 90 degree angle at the bottom so I will let the bend of the foam float that small amount

it will be raised a hair once it is tacked on..but general idea what I am shooting for

got a little sewing done, just needed to do some, and now I could fit the foam and get some measurements...

being loose does not do it justice, but you can see my vision for design...if you keep an open mind

That looks really great! The brown looks very leather-like.... It's a good looking layout, but execution makes it even better!:)

Inspirational! You & WOG have started a trend....

Those SC guys aren't doing this caliber of upholstery themselves.

Always rush rush rush....
Get it to float quick....
Shiny Shiny Shiny.....
A tad prideful, and definitely like the kool aide a touch too much, but generally good folk:rolleyes:*

But WOG's BF & these benches are all class gentlemen, an all class act!

Glad you guys let me tag along so I could be here as both projects came together..... THANKS!

Re: Pontoon Seat Rebuild and Reupholstery Job

thanks guys....I am not in business yet...my wife is ticked because this is taking up so much room in my house...so hoping to make enough to finish the skeeter, then this will be on hold until I find some place with a shop....she flipped out on me the other night and finally saw how she really feels about this...

Don't beat yourself up too much Judge! I know personally that you're not the only guy out there with a wife who doesn't realize that basements were meant for projects! haha.... like WOG said...

BEEN THERE!!!!!

Thank the Lord I have a shop. When I converted the Garage into my "Paint Booth" and the wife had to park outside....Oh Boy did I hear about it for a couple of weeks. I still get "When you gunna get this boat done so you can do some stuff for me!!!!"

My "Yes Dear" is not working as well as it used to.

Hang in there Judge, Like the wise man said..."This too, shall Pass!!"

Yep, I'm there now too @ the MRS:facepalm:

As long as my clothes are still IN the house, I reckon I'll be OK:rolleyes:

At least for the pontoon benches, your spending someone else's money (their deposit) to make money. My projects have been out flow only lately...

Either way, WE still like you:) And WE all think the basement project looks GREAT!:D

Cheers, at least until you see the locksmith van in the driveway....

Re: Pontoon Seat Rebuild and Reupholstery Job

wish it was about the money...it is about how much room I am using...my basement is full, my carport is full, I have an extra table in the living room, the dining room table is cluttered, my back porch is covered up...I just do not have the room for this so once I finish this up, that is all she wrote...seemed like a fun way to fill my time but I'd rather keep my wife happy. I brought home a table saw yesterday, got it for free, was proud as could be to have it, and all she could say was "where the &%#% you gonna put that?" lol

Yep! Generally true. The inverse however, in my experience, is absolutely true 100% of the time:

unhappy wife = bad mojo rising & headed your way:rolleyes:

Re: Pontoon Seat Rebuild and Reupholstery Job

took a day off Friday to just relax and clear my mind...so today I cut the rest of the backs and bottoms, that table saw my wife was not impressed with saved me a ton of time!

then I took a break... They feel quite sturdy!

Also got my first full panel sewn...onward and upward from here
