I'm not what you would call real relegious, but I do believe in God. I also believe in friendship. I do not believe in Political correctness, so if I offend you, change the thread.

Our friends son is/has having brain surgery today. Please say a small prayer for him (Ethan) his dad Jason (jasoutside) and family.

Thank You

An open letter to the man upstairs..read and repeat if you wish..;)

Dear Lord,

I ask you today to be with Ethan,
Hold him in your grace and protect him.
Bless him and bring comfort to his Mother & Father
As well as all who also love and care for this young soul.
I know all things are possible through you Lord.
I ask these blessings in the name of your son, Jesus Christ

Amen

You got a way with words Kev. I second that prayer in the name of Jesus.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

Jason, I pray for your strength for the days to come, and for the knowledge and guidence of the LORD in the doctors and nurses that are caring for Ethan. I pray that Healing and Love saturate Ethans body, through the love of Jesus. I pray for comfort and ease of mind for your wife, all of this I pray in Jesus' name... amen

Im passing your names onto my church, and will continue to pray for Ethan for the days to come. Please inform us as to Ethans condition. The prayer chain is going global... as Don said... where two or more are gathered in prayer....
all my best brother!:D

Re: Prayers do Wonders

I have issues with my own childern but could not even imagine what Jason, Ethan and family are going through. My wife and I are not religious people by any means but still believe in God and very good friends. I am alive to this day due to the lords intervention on several occasions and am very glad of it.

Jason, my wife and I are praying for you, Ethan and the rest of your family. Our only problem with this is that we are not closer to be able to help you out bud. My the lord watch over you and your loved ones and may he also bless the doctors and nurses that will be watching and working on Ethan. May they be able to do everything that they possibly can for this fine young man and see him through this hard time. May Jason and family be watched over and that they are all safe and that they may be able to be strong in these tough times.

Ethan, may you go through this surgery with good health and that things will go very good for you. Bless you that you will recover very quick and remember that there are a great number of people in this world that do not know you in person but care for you very much. Speedy recovery little man so that you can pester dad into getting the boat done and you can go fishing and camping on it.

God Bless Jason and family and that they will have all the strength that is needed and that they have the loved ones and friend there that they need.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

Wow you guys!

I couldn't sleep and just found my way here to this thread. Man you guys are just awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We drove down to Ann Arbor yesterday and grabbed a cheap hotel. We then took a quick trip down to the Cabalas store just about 20 minutes away. Ethan went crazy, he loved it! It's more like walking around in a museum than a store. The taxidermy is phenomenal, elephants, lions, cape buffalo, marlin, shark, wolf, elk, moose, everything! They have a giant walk through fish tank too, he loves fish! He kept hollering out "Oh, look at that! What's that daddy!" I think his favorite was the painted turtles swimming around with the bluegill and crappie. He really like the scene where the lions are taking down the water buffalo too. He was so pumped the whole visit, that was fun.

Funny, we didn't even "look" at a single item in that gigantic outdoor retail store as we were too busy enjoying Ethan's excitement. Grabbed some dinner and headed back to the hotel for some hang out time.

Few hours from now we'll be headed to to hospital. Thankfully Jennifer and Ethan are sleeping soundly. This is easily the biggest day that my family has ever been through. I really appreciate the prayers, support and encouragement guys. I am usually a pretty tight lipped guy when it comes to this personal stuff but this situation here has tore me up. I am kinda rambling here - should stop.

My prayer life has been weak lately, so thanks guys, from my whole family! You are awesome!

I love my son and I just want him to be ok.

Thanks again guys.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

I have been sitting here for the last couple of minuits trying to think of some comforting words to say, but words of comfort excape me. What do you say to a man who is going threw something like this ?

I do not know...

I do sincerely hope that things work out so you can enjoy many more days with him.

It was good for me to read your post and I thank you for posting it. Another prayer for your family has been sent.

Today's the day. May this be just a minor bump in a long and happy road of life for Ethan. I have faith in the competent hands of the doctors at the university hospital. Please keep us updated.

Re: Prayers do Wonders

Jason, Jennifer, and Ethan,
My son has had neurology issues as well. We also went to UofM. I must say Ethan WILL HAVE the best care. I want you to know there are MANY "warriors" praying for all of you. So please keep us informed. Or I'll have to come "home" and finish that boat for you!
I feel a warm fuzzy coming over the "angry mob" , as we all seem to be caring for one of our own. God bless us all, and God bless this thread. I can see now, we all need His love.
