Well, it is just a little annoying to get PMs with technical questions but a simple, "Technical questions are answered in the correct forum." takes care of it. Get a lot of those.
The general style of the iboats Boating Forums has served iboats and our members well since before the turn of the century. Any changes we contemplate should enhance, rather than reduce, the helpfulness to new members.
Sorry, I had to laugh when I read that. It reminded me when I used to hear great grandpa say that. I always thought, wow, that was a long time ago...
I never at the time gave it any thought that we would see the next century and someday say that very thing. In fact, until I read it, I never even thought about it all, let alone saying it. But it fits
As for the post limits...I think it would be a bad idea. Just answer back as suggested or delete without an answer period.
Some people have read and lurked around for a long time. You start to get the feeling you understand a persons demeaner and character. Some people are timid and do not want the world to see what they said, so they ask "privately" who they feel they relate with the best. Or, who they feel may give the right answer. So to that I say, Mark, you should feel honored that people hold you in that high regard.
Just another way to look at it.
