replacing one newtire on rear of duel motor home

What method is used on replacing one rear tire on duel? should the new tire be mounted inside or on the outside?

alot of the older chevy ton trucks wore the outside tire out quicker for some reason,the most important thing is to make sure the 2 tires are of the same size or as close as possible,im not talking about the #s as much as i am the height,if 1 is taller it will wear/fail a lot quicker than the shorter 1.if your tires wear evenly it wont matter .if all the tires are the same on the truck move a steering tire to the rear & put the new 1 there as the height wont matter up front,mike243

Ayuh,... Due to the crowning of hi-ways,.. The newer tire goes on the Outside, worn tire Inside...

Another way to look at is when turning the corners (outside tires) get loading more than the inside tires. You want your best tread in the corners.
