HI BILL :)
Hows things.
Front and back windows gone, 3 of 6 other windows cracked (safety glass).
I wonder how lexan holds out over winter use (scraping ice off)
need to extend hoses to run a heater/defroster and find a electric windshield wiper motor and arm.
Still lots of work as I was saying.
But at least I will have a roof and sides around me when the snow comes a blowin.

HIJACK!!

Went hog hunting on Thursday at Tiger Island Outfitters in Cedar Key with my buddy Gary. We had an absolute ball!

HEY BWR nice goin on the hogs! thats great! free food! and a great end to the night at a restaurant...looks like yall had a ball!

ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!

I overcooked the tenderloins last night! Dry as a bone and hard as a rock at 160 degree internal temperature. Doggone it!

I have some ribs to cook up tonight... they're pretty small compared to domestic ribs. Any suggestions on a best approach to keep them fall-apart tender and moist?

my 2 cents on cooking riblets......:D

Those crockpot versions look good! I cook my pork ribs in a turkey roasting pan with a beer or 2 for moisture, upside down meaty side down....boney side up....covered with fresh onion, some liquid smoke, salt, pepper, fresh garlic minced, and brown sugar sprinkled all over the top for sweetness, (or use applesauce and a little bit of brown sugar) cook 1 hour 425 covered with lid, flip meat then leave uncovered , sprinkle some rosemary on the meat, and spread BBQ sauce on (I use open pit brand) and then cook 1/2 more hour, if ya wanna let the oven crisp the surface up for ya
.otherwise bbq em for 15 minutes or so to scorch em....

Hey RBY, I am sure glad Paul re-posed your post on lexan I never saw it. The lexan will scratch but it beats the heck out of none at all. BUT flat glass should be cheep enough at a windshield place usually around $50

With my 742 I will take a photo of my trigger mechanism and post it after the children are in bed. The gun was fine last I shot it last hunting season. I got it out Thursday & cleaned and oiled her. everything looked fine. its a carbine action, I even field striped her at the range today and by hand slid the piston/spring assembly. It pulled and locked the trigger at 3/4 of the way even before the point where it ejected and loaded the next round. I am thinking the notch on the hammer but it still don't make sense to me. If the notch was the problem it would not hold when I cranked one in normally

This is the Hijack thread it is about what you want it to be.....:D

I see. I never understood that anyway. I never got worked up if someone talked about anything they wanted in some thread I started. Refreshing to find out nobody really cares about hijacking threads.

It isn't that you can hijack any thread... but it's the primary method in this thread.

What BWR said ^^^^^ :D

I actually started this thread as a goof :) because my buddies and I where hijacking our own threads and talking about everything under the sun from guns and zombies to tractors and boilers in the boat rebuilding section.

Speaking of tractors...

HIJACK!!

A few weeks ago I did some serious tree pruning around here. We'd had a really nice weather week and the temps were perfect for working outside. I had a fair number of large piles of brush on the ground... then the weather got hot and humid again, so I went back indoors.

I'd been thinking of hauling all that stuff to the dump, but that would have been a major PITA, so I considered just burning the piles. That would take forvever.

So yesterday afternoon I disconnected the box blade from my little tractor and hooked up the bush hog and started working the brush piles... awww yeahhhh... that worked JUST fine! Shredded pretty much everything except stuff 3" in diameter or larger! :D

LOL, That's one way to get rid it, I actually do the same with my flail mower :D Next week is my turn I have to go upstate to get ready for hunting, clear the fields on last time, make sure my logging roads are open & move some tree stands.

Speaking of hunting Hijack

I found out what the problem was with the Remington Woodsmaster!!!! sometimes I am just a JERK

if you look at the pic I point to the disconnector to connector arrangement. Well the disconnector goes under the connector so when the hammer drops forward the sear is allowed to reset. Last time I stripped it down to clean it I put the disconnector above instead  Oops

Note to self: DO NOT tear down your rifles after drinking a 1/2 bottle of Gentleman Jack !!!

Well, I pulled the boat yesterday and parked it today. Time to see if "The Works" does what folks have bragged about. Sad to work this hard to leave the lake. Talk about adding insult to injury...

HIJACK!

Well, the weather is FINALLY starting to break around here! Expected highs only in the 80s with lows in the low-to-mid 60s coming up.

I woke this morning to 73 degrees and 80% humidity as the rainy remnants of tropical storm Nicole passed through. By this afternoon the temp was only 82 and the humidity had dropped to 50% with a very nice breeze blowing and the sun shining brightly. I turned off the A/C and opened all the doors and windows!

Starting the best 8 months of the year now! :D

Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

This thread's been JACKED!!

Just bought another Musky lure that I've never seen before. I hope the Muskies haven't either! It's 14" "Jimmy"......

crappie.jpg

I went with the same color scheme as my Squirrely Burt since I had a Musky follow it to the boat.

silverholo.jpg

So, between my 14" Jimmy and my Squirrely Burt, I hope to put the smack down on the Muskies this fall.....

On another note:
I still need to check the scope on my deer rifle. The last few years I have to resight it before and during the season. I was told by a gunsmith that my see thru style mounts could be causing the problem. I went to Weaver mounts, sighted it in, and since the last time I shot it last spring it hasn't moved. I need to make sure it's still there, otherwise, I'm buying a Leupold VX-2. I currently have an old Redfield. I still don't have my muzzleloader out to 100yds yet either....

Nah, it all pretty much disappeared once I was done. I still have a few of the larger pieces, which I'll either haul off or burn later. Good luck on the house situation!
