Small Update,
After filing 32 ringsalmost finished the short block, well it is technically finished but I want to degree the cam just to make sure
. If I get home early enough tomorrow I will slap on a head with an old gasket to degree her. I had to squeeze in the engine tonight after spending the day tiling a floor. Here is some pics of where I am now

Sorry I couldn't resist![]()
haha, now that's a sweet lookin engine!
HVAC I'm blown away by your attention to detail and knowledge regarding the new engine. For an OB guy like me it's a real education
Nice work, good luck with the rest of the project!
Brings new meaning to an alky fueled engine lolMe likey. That 6 pack will really make her fly...into the trees.![]()
Great looking project and nice job with the engine. Now thats some real power for the boat. The only engine I ever rebuilt was a VW air cooled. I swear I could rebuild one today with a good leatherman. I have really enjoyed following your porject. What does HVAC stand for ?
oh HVAC....... I thought it stood for Holidays Vacations And Commisions.
Hey HVAC,
Just catching up on my reading. How do you intend to keep that 6 pack cold?
Perhaps a little nitrous.
The engine is coming along nicely.
Great work.

WOW! I feel bout 2" tall right nowOK, While I wait for more epoxy for my other project, I jumped back onto this one, what can I say my A.D.D. kicking in lol. After realizing I was off almost an inch on the motor mount stringer I cut it back out. The bilge had a layer of glass over paint, which I knew so I figured I would grind it out while the stringer was out again instead of trying to work around it. excuse the poor cellphone pics, there was dust on the lens
I ground chipped, peeled and ground some more till I got to here on the starboard side.
I then repaired a little section that I ground down to the balsa core with a 1708 patch and gave the entire area a coat of epoxy

As you can see I need to do the port side next. I figured I would wait till I have the starboard mount in, grind the bad glass work and re-glass the entire bilge.
I figured while I was taking pics I would add an intimidating shot of the bow for SnowHunter
