Re: Was Jesus a real person?
Plenty of historical evidence of the existence of "Jesus of Nazareth" - he made a pretty big splash on the political scene. Jews & Muslims accept him as a prophet on par with Moses & Noah and some others.

Proof of his divinity? Nah. The Bible is a theological document, not a history or science book. An engaged girl gets pregnant, leaves town.... There's no "official" record of the census Luke cited in his Gospel as the reason for the trip to Bethlehem. Doesn't mean it didn't happen...lot of records have been destroyed since then. A celestial event to mark the birth of a "king" - appearance of angels - it parallels the stories written about the birth of sons to the caesars.

Miracles witnessed by thousands, yet how many written accounts of them are there? The Bible was written in a time when "magic" and "supernatural" events were accepted as fact. In fact you might say that when Jesus walked the earth, it was a flat surface at the center of the universe, and the heavens revolved around it. That was known scientific fact just as surely as we know the earth is round. For that matter, you only believe it to be round because some smart people told you so and you believed them. (Unless of course you've been on a shuttle mission where you could see it for yourself).

Alls I'm sayin is, for proof of divinity of Jesus Christ, all you have is your own faith. At least that's all I know about for sure.
