Order the carpet yet?

One thing to remember is you may want to use extra to cover some things. I know you will cover the bow area with a strip as well.

I have the trowel some where to laid down the carpet glue.

Re: Webbcraft deck replacement

worked a little bit on prepping the floor for carpet. Finished working on my permanent/temp trap door for petro tank access.

Carpet from Capri showed up on friday morning from fedex, i was impressed and wasnt ready for it until next week.

Weather permitted as did wife and kid, planned and mapped out the carpet.

Got a 15 x 8 piece, properly cut i can lay my carpet in once peice.

going to lowes in the A.M. for a carpet knife and adhesive.

also spent a few hours wet sanding the hull, anyone know of a polishing compound that works well?

DUECES!

wow, fiberglass has been done forever now, the carpet is sitting in my garage from capri carpet. good folks by the way, highly recommended, sorry iboats.

winter hit ohio hard so far and its 0 ish with the wind chill last few days and havent had a chance to even lay this carpet out and cut it.

friday should get close to a high of 40, so maybe then, or take the carpet to work and cut it there in the office lol.

Re: Webbcraft deck replacement

today might have been the last of the warmer days here in southwest ohio. got around 40ish.

Got the baby up, watched some cartoons and got to work. spread the tarp out, laid carpet and mapped out the deck plan, cut it, stuck it and got it done.

all the trim panels are temporarialy in place as spring comes I need to finish rewiring the engine. last guy used duct tape instead of solder and shrinkwrap.

anyway here are a few pics and I guess the last update of this thread.

Oh yeah, got to clean out the garage and ride the motorcycle around town a bit too, not a bad day...

Re: Webbcraft deck replacement

Nicely done sir. You going to leave it in the driveway or park it at someone else house with some room?

I need to drop mine off at my dad's to make room at my house.

Re: Webbcraft deck replacement

Thanks, initially thought this would be a fast project. I did not take into consideration drying and curing times (fiberglass can take a few days longer is cold temps), it has to be well planned and thought out.

It was my first time working on a boat, working with fiberglass, and i am really bad at woodwork. Im pleased how it turned out though.

it is crazy that the picture of the carpet laying in the driveway and then the snow covered driveway/jeep are less than 24 hours apart. It was truely my last chance to get this project done.
