kozman, that was one of the best vehicles we ever had hardly ever had any issues at all, never did break down anywheres, had a ton of miles at that. Maybe you got a lemon
As my signature says, 1994 Chevy K1500 Suburban. 5.7, 700R4, 4X4, 3.73 axles. I just got the truck about 9 months ago. If I was doing more towing, I would change to 4.10 axles. But here in Panama, you are kinda forced to take what you can find.
QC are those chains on the rear tires. What the HE!!. I have a suburban drive strait up mountains in 2-4 feet of snow no problem. NEVER even thought about chains. <br />I hope thats a 2-wheel drive or thats some bad advertisments!!hahaha
Yes, 2WD. In CA they are often required. I was at Mammoth and tried to make it all weekend without them. I was sitting at a light, just a slight uphill grade, when it went green I could not get the thing to go for anything, and despite being from LA I have a lot of snow experience. Luckily it was sliding to the right, so I put my blinker on, slid through the intersection, parked and put them on. Hated it, but I absolutely had to.<br /><br />I've had Suburbans ('96 and '00) too and had to chain up, but that was again a requirement. I actually think I would have had to chain with either truck that particular morning. Used to always buy 4WD, got tired of going through front tires . . .<br /><br />P.S. I was actually hoping nobody would spot them, good eyes.
2001 TOYOTA 4-RUNNER 4WD 75k towing a 23' rinker v230 305ci mercruiser, 2axle trailer weighing in at @ 3500#'s (boat is 2800#'s bal is trailer & gear)<br /><br />Absolutley no issues. Pulls like a champ.
2004 Holden (GM) Commodore wagon 3.9L V6, 4-speed auto towing a Quintrex 475 Spirit Cuddy Cabin. Does 85mph no worries (apart from the speed cameras!) but when towing at that speed she guzzles petrol faster than a wino with a fresh bottle of metho! 14 mpg with boat, 25 in traffic, 35 at a steady 60mph. Only real issue is I have to tow in 3 rather than D otherwise the gearbox hunts between 3rd and 4th all the time.
88 chevy 4x4 2500 350 bfg all terrain 31s., pulling a 14 foot crestliner and I still keep checking to make sure that its back there. Cant wait for the new boat.
<br /><br />2001 Dakota Sport 3.9L V6 42RE 4-spd Auto 2wd c/w factory tow package and 3.92 rear axle. Seems to tow fine.... but gets quite thirsty.
