I use the name Tin Lid because that what we as kids of the sixtys call the Johnsons & Evinrudes from the fiftys. Now I have restored two Tin Lids a 1957 18 Hp. Johnson and a 1955 25 Hp. Johnson. The 25 Hp. was given to me by a customer of mine complete with a cedar strip 16' Lakefield.

That's a piece of 8' Juniper from Oregon in the place of a mantle. They utilized similar pieces for the interior columns as well.

tylerin,
Nice work! I can see where our works would compliment each other! They are similar, yet quite different trades. :)
Do you do any glass block work?
I assume you must build a wicked shower pan with such nice tile work.

I think your work is equally impresive.
Sounds like I need to follow your footsteps. My back is about shot after 27 years of this work.
Of course then my knees would probably go next
I'm trying to train my hoddy to do the same work as I. He can do it, but he needs to lose the intimidation factor.
So, do you do showers as well?

Fshkpr is fishkeeper with out the vowels. been using it for email was always gonna get personalized license plates with it too. but to cheap to spend the extra money. i used to be into keeping fish in aquariums. at one time i had over 20 tanks of various sizes. over 500 gallons. got to be more like a job then a hobby so i got rid of most of them. only have 1 tank right now a 125 gallon with all native wisconsin fish in it.

What can I say, I love those 12ft aluminum boats 'cause you can stick 'em on the roof of your off road truck (soon to come) and launch at some secluded middle of no where lake

Re: What does your username stand for?

Well....my son gave me the name. Since I have a shop and all and everytime (well several times) that we go out on the river, someone flags me down and says hey what do I do about this or that. And since she herself loves to fish and hardly catches anything but mud cats, the boy put the monickers of outboardjim and mudcatmary on us. Seems to fit.

Bowfin. I guess it is pretty obvious. they hit like a freight train, have teeth, straighten hooks, and break rods. What could be more fun to catch? The river system i live around is the 13th most endangered in the Nation (The Catawba), so I am a little uneasy eating anything out of it. So I fish for the fight. Have yet to catch one out of the catawba, but have hooked the next best thing... gar. I have seen evidence of 'fin in the Catawba, just haven't hooked one in there yet. Finally bought a Jon boat so I'm sure I'll get to battle a few Catwaba 'fin soon. I first started posting on the kayak fishing boards as Bowfin several years ago, long before anyone ever had any websites about fishing for them. i thought I was the only one until bowfinanglers.com came on the scene.

Cartopper- you sound like a good candidate for a kayak.

Bowfin
