Many remove W from responsibility of anything when they go wrong. Does he have any responsibility to this country, if so, just what are they?

And many blame President Bush for EVERYTHING that goes wrong. Why don't YOU tell us what his responsibilities are?

Re: W's Responsibilities??

I have a cottage on Keuka Lake in central NYS. The weather is lousy and I'm trying to find several upcoming clear days so I can take my boat out for the winter and bring my dock in to shore....so I'm not happy with the current weather forecasts.

I believe President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld are directly responsible for the bad weather; and, furthermore, they lied to me about today's projected temperature. Additionally, Dennis Hastert knew weeks ago about this week's rain and wind and did nothing about it.

Neither John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, nor Al Gore, especially Mr. Gore, would let this happen...would he/she....?

Re: W's Responsibilities??

The Republican party is the party of personal responsibility, for other people.

Kwas, since everyone on the right seems to think that W is accused of everything, I think it a fair question to ask what then is he responsible for, and what he isn't responsible for.

For example, during Hurricane Katrina, no one accused him of being responsible for the hurricane itself. OTOH, he was responsible for the federal response to that hurricane. Do you think that is fair?: And if not W, who is responsible for the federal response?

I agree with Bob Fort. Bob, I live in Addison near Corning. I've been trying for two weeks to have good weather so I can clean up my boat and do the winter maintenace. It has been bad every time I get a day off. In fact it is even getting darker as each day goes by. Today it is trying to rain and cloudy and my automatic head lights came on at 8:00 AM!
Between Bush and pataki you would think we could get better weather this time of year and the same hours on sunlight year round. Maybe I should send an email to Rep. Kuhl.

PW2, I think that it is a fair question too, so why won't you tell us? President Bush DID take responsibility for the perceived slow responce to hurricane Katrina. were you out to lunch? d:)

Why not just make a list of what you would like to know the president is responsible for? Whatever you're unsure of. Someone will fill you in. Honestly they will.

Re: W's Responsibilities??

These are the responses I expected from supporters.

You either don't know or don't want to say because much of what he is accused is accurate.

This is your opportunity to explain his responsibilities. You don't like him being accused of everything/anything. So, explain his responsibilities so we do not accuse him of things he is not responsible for. Help us get on the same page as yourselves.

KWAS,

Why don't I explain them? Well, I guess because I asked the question? Do you not get the whole question and answer forum here?

Re: W's Responsibilities??

CJY;

These guys are really into demanding specifics and supporting data and citations if it is their "enemies" they are talking to (that would be you and I and a few others) but they are almost always short on any of that when pressed to support their own theses. I could only get one half hearted attempt to support the statement that Nukes are are last best hope for power generation. They just FEEL that way, that's all.

My dear old dad has, over the years, fallen into the habit of getting all of his news and opinion from the O'Reilly Factor and that windbag Rush. But since he is only reciting what these and other talking heads are saying, he is mostly incapable of haing a discussion that actually defends and supports his positions, since he has put almost no thought into analyzing them.

Re: W's Responsibilities??

CIY, The president has too many responsibilities to list them here. If you don't know what any of them are I would suggest that you enroll in a local community college civics class as it seems that you must have slept through it in high school. If your question was just to provoke an argument as a way to bash the president then I'm not biteing. 8)

Nice troll, BTW.

He is responsible for the actions of the miltary and protecting the USA from harm or invasion from foreign persons.

He is responsible for SPONSORING the national budget.

He is responsible for foreign policy.

PW2, I distinckly remember him saying "its my fault for the slow fed response" and rightly so.

Re: W's Responsibilities??

Kwas,

Too many responsibilities, yet none of them are ever his. Interesting. Again, as I expected.

KIP, what makes this less than a legit question? Is it because some don't like it. Is it because the 5th must be plead so as not to implicate W? Please explain why you see this as a troll.

Re: W's Responsibilities??

Bush is responsible in much the same way a ship's captain is responsible for all that occurs onboard.

Bush may not be the individual who carried out the action, may not even know about the action, but he is ultimately responsible since he got the title and assumed the authority upon being sworn in to the office.

So, "fire" him through impeachment, or wait him out and vote for someone you believe will right the wrongs and set upon a course that will restore us to primacy in the neighborhoods, hemisphere, world, etc..

Having said that, I believe that any aspirant to the Presidency has most assuredly made either covert or overt agreements over time that compromise his/her ability to act freely once in office. Selecting a candidate is kind of like a crap shoot when you think about it....

Is the White House Intern Program similar to the Congressional Page program...just wondering.....

Re: W's Responsibilities??

CJY,
What is it you want to debate? A High school civic class? That's all you question boils down to.

What are the responsibilities of a president?

I had that class in highschool. Did you?
