    New dog

Yeah, he was much better the second night. He seems to be settling in. My wife bought me a new Benelli Nova 12 ga. as a retirement gift so I should be all set this fall. Can't wait to get the pup that I will soon be getting, in the woods this fall. Its always fun, training a new dog.

    New dog

He's always been outside, but with company in the kennels next to him. He barked constantly until 12:30 am and then I had to go get him and make a bed for him in the garage and put him in there for the night. My wife was getting a scary look in her eye. He was much better in the garage, so maybe...

    Nobody fishing?

Where are you catching them to? And on what? I'm going to try to get into fly fishing this year. Lots of brown trout and brook trout around here but only a few ponds have rainbows....I've never caught one.

    New dog

Just got a new beagle off my brother today. He's 4 yrs old. He's outside now in the large enclosure I built for him, barking his head off. He is used to being with 3 other dogs and is now temporarily by himself. I'm getting another beagle pup in a couple of weeks to go with him. I think its...

    Breakfast Dishes and Biscuits

A traditional thing around here is what we call toutons. Just let white bread dough rise and then stretch it out into flat round circles sort of like very thick pancakes, and then fry them until browned up. Serve with molasses over them. Simple but good.

    Quit My Job . . .

Congratulations! I retired the last of Feb. I was saying to my wife the other day that I don't know how I managed to do all that needs doing and still work before I retired. Its real nice not worrying about the clock though!

Oil change interval, synthetic or no, curious what we all do

I just do what my truck tells me when it tells me, via the dash reminder. Other engines like OB, ATV, lawnmower, once a year. Regular oil.

I like salt cod on toast, or smoked mackerel or kippers on toast. My all time favorite is fried spawn filled caplin on toast, but I doubt you would get them where you are!

    What boat to choose

My boat is about 20ft and even 3 people fishing is a bit crowded. I also wouldn't venture too far from land in a boat that size.

    1980 14 ft Mirrocraft 4 stroke repower

It depends on what you want the boat for and how big a load you would be carrying. A 15hp would get you where you need to go, but you won't win any races. If you are just puttering around fishing it would probably be work out just fine.

Huge left pull when getting on Plane

I'm just wondering.....if the OP didn't touch the steering tab during the seal repair, shouldn't everything go back together same as if was originally? Then there shouldn't need to be a tab adjustment? Would some kind of misfit or misalignment in the drive shafts where the seals were replaced...

Fasteners thru hull of thin hull fiberglass boat below waterline

If the problem is the sharp ends of the screws protruding thtu to the outside of the hull and leaking, but the screws themselves are still solid, I would just use a grinder to flatten off the screw tips and go a LITTLE deeper into the hull. Then fill the void on the outside with epoxy or make a...
