    Power Trim Up not working

You might want to check that the trim limit switch is set correctly. It's easy to check and adjust. Look at post #4 in this thread by @alldodge https://forums.iboats.com/threads/alpha-one-trim-limit-switch-adjustment.649809/

New starter, new battery, still just clicks when key is turned. 1990 3.0 mercrusier.

Sounds like you have a dirty connection somewhere. Disconnect every connection one at a time and clean to shiny new. Sometimes a cable can get corroded internally. Check all cables at all connections for green corrosion.

Has anyone seen or heard of a trailer tire doing this?

As long as its solid ground it's ok. Mine is on concrete, so its stable. If you are on the ground and not concrete, you could sit the jack stands on heavy plywood to spread the weight out and prevent them from digging into the ground.

Has anyone seen or heard of a trailer tire doing this?

Exactly. Block up the axle. Two good reasons: The weight won't be on the tires and the tires won't be in contact with the ground. Actually a third reason: I keep my stern drive all the way down during winter storage so the bellows are relaxed. I fear if my tires go flat for some reason...

    Electric Cars or Trucks

How about our flailing electric grid. It can barely handle it's present load. We need to make major improvements before we get too far into these electric vehicles. Then there's the obvious.....we'll be using more fuel at the power plants, coal, natural gas, nuclear. They hate nuclear, so...

    03 4.3 carb and manifolds

I have the same boat with the same engine. Does your's have the sport seating (bench seat) with the big sunpad covering the engine compartment or does it have a dog house with the two side seats? We love the sunpad and the bench seat (we call it the couch). I bought mine in 2013. It was...

Wonder if I should go IO again or go OB?

If it were up to me....no question, I would not go I/O the next time. Too much maintenance, winterizing, things that need fixing due to wear, such as bellows, gimbal bearings, u-joints and other driveline components. If your u-joint or shifter bellows leak, your boat can sink. With an O/B...

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

Good article. Answers some questions. My thoughts [about the ST tires] were that they were not as durable and had weaker sidewalls, when the opposite is true! I thought trailers, since they are lighter and have no steering, presented less of a strain on the sidewalls. The opposite is true...

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

Good conversation. Yeah, I had one of those '92 Explorers with the Firestones. They replaced them for free. I also remember the switch over from biased to radials. It was all the rage at the time.

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

I tried to Google that and I got nothing. I'm not doubting you at all. I blame disinformation for most likely blocking those articles. I assume the problems you have experienced have only been with trailer tires. I wonder why trailer tires are not up to par with our vehicle tires? Or is it...

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

Oh that's interesting. That's a different experience from mine. When I switched to radials I felt a huge difference in ride. I didn't realize it before I did the switch, but the biased ones gave a rock hard ride and the trailer seemed to bounce more. The radials are smooth, like a cushion...

What Lube to Pull (or Push) Fuel Fill Line through ABS Pipe?

Or get some very thin string. Tie the corner of a plastic bag about the size of the inner diameter of the conduit to the end of the string. It will act like a parachute. Now suck it through with a shop vac. You'll be surprised how quick and well this works. If that string is too weak to pull...

Upgrading trailer tires and rims - need advice

I went from bias to radial and it was a world of difference. It now rides like it's on a cushion of air. A huge improvement! The bias tires were like Fred Flintstone's tires, made of stone.

Also check that the bonding wires are in place. I saw some minor pitting on my pristine outdrive and noticed a bonding wire had broken off. I painted the small spots and reattached the bonding wire and no more pitting.

    Trailer Brakes or Not

I did this too. I'm in fresh water too. I think discs are better for salt water. I couldn't stand the constant banging of the surge brake actuator every time I applied the brakes and every time I took off from a stop. Plus I got tired of the constant maintenance of the hydraulics and...
