    1990 Evinrude 9.9HP Powerpack

^^not sure if there is a heat source identified -- may be sufficient to closely monitor powerhead temps in those motors with under-the-flywheel packs. I have a couple of them at the moment, and have had not had issues -- had two or three previously with no issues of which I was aware. But it's...

1970 60 hp evinrude low voltage

It's not very sexy, but voltage issues can and do start with wire connectors, particularly at the battery. Make sure the big battery connectors are bright and shiny (sand paper is the cure).

1975 15 hp evinrude 15504C warms up then dies

Yup. Idle needle on top of carb. The idle chamber under the silver plug must be clean. Assuming that, try leaning out the mix (clockwise) 1/8 turn until motor coughs or quits. then back out 1/4 turn for best running.

1975 15 hp evinrude 15504C warms up then dies

The black stuff could also be from a partially disintegrated water pump impeller -- should check surface temp on top of head (ir tester is a great tool) Over 150-160F is too hot. Change impeller, of course, if you haven't done that. Motor sounds good. You might throttle it down as you are...

    2004 225 oil injector issue

And sometimes i's mucked up and needs to be cleaned. Btw, I always understood that all injectors needed to be changed together, as they are matched sets. Maybe that's wrong.

Reed Valvè Adjustment 1977 Johnson 70

Now that you've got your mind sraight on reed valves and throttle valves :cool:you can pull off the carbs and access reed plates easily enough. There's not much to do there, though. Look for stray bolts (!) that have wandered into the reeds (remove the bolts and make sure the reed is not...

    Shift position way off

Whenever you shift into gear without the engine running, you need to turn the prop slightly, maybe pull slightly on the starter rope. You may have a problem with the gearcase, but I wouldn't assume anything before you are sure assembly is correct. You might reattach the top and bottom rods...

1998 Evinrude Outboard 150 Ocean Pro Ignition Switch issue

Might start with the battery -- polarity correct? Check solenoid -- marine solenoid or automotive (latter is grounded differently).

    Johnson 50hp throttle linkage?

When you did that bunch of usual checks, did you measure spark on each lead. Need an open air, adjustable tester (auto parts store).

    frustated

You have a 6 hp model. Look here on iBoats for a diagram of the carb in the "shop" section. (http://ww2.iboats.com/Carburetor/dm/cart_id.388014622--session_id.269216824--view_id.1546042)

    1979 75HP Evinrude 75943R - Throttle Issues

still could be a prop issue, though -- balance. A prop shop can repair most damage, and rebalance.

    Shift position way off

Add a little lube to the connector to make things easier. Remove the top bolt, and pry the connector apart at the top just slightly with a bladed screwdriver. Look at the end of the upper shift rod. It has a machined indentation to allow the bolt you removed to slide through. The rod has to...

lift pump may be the cure, but might consider soaking/spraying/brushing injector clearer on the problem injector.

Use another compression tester and see if you get the same results. With an analogue tester, remove all plugs and crank until the needle stops rising. Record and move on.
