Hi from Newfoundland Canada :) Intro Fourwinns Fling

As was said above, likely that boat has a lot of issues. If the engine was full of water then likely in winter it froze and may have done major damage. Likely didn't do the boat any favors freezing and thawing either. Not to mention rot and waterlogged foam. Free boats are seldom free. By the...

    Winterizing New Suzuki DF25A

For what its worth, I wouldn't change anything after one hour use, waste of time and money. I might let a little gear oil out to make sure no water got in, but thats it.

Advice: Rock Shore Line - Mooring, Docking, Anchoring

Another optiom might be a small wooden slipway to partially run up on. It could leave you high and dry if the water level drops though.

Advice: Rock Shore Line - Mooring, Docking, Anchoring

You could build a small flat square landing area at the bottom of the steps, like a hollow cage of wood and sink it by filling with rocks and then put a PT floor on it. Might be hard to keep there if the river freezes in winter and the ice moves though. Where is this to?

    Long distance commuters

People on bycycles drive me nuts! I really don't think they should have the same rights as cars on the road, but I know a lot of people would disagree.

59 Glasspar Seafair sedan possible transom rebuild?

I don't think the Coosa will give you extra strength, just the bonus of being rot proof. I rebuilt my transon with Thermlite which is basically the same thing and as far as the strength of the core material goes i'd say the plywood is likely stronger. However the Coosa is lighter and the most of...

    Long distance commuters

Don't have much of a commute, I usually leave the house at 7:00 or 7:10 and am at work by 7:30. Just long enough to catch the news. As for rude/ stupid drivers, they are everywhere. I think its always been that way, we just show our age by it annoying us more as we get older! Truth be known, we...

1983 235hp Evinrude repower pros and cons...

The motor is almost 40 yrs old and the maker is gone out of business, that would be enough for me to keep looking! Also a 235hp on an 18 ft boat would be way overkill where i'm from!
