    Honda BF130 problems, needs input

Lesson #1 I hope, is that the Honda's, or 4 strokes in general, are NOT that difficult to work on - assuming only that you have a well charged patience hat to wear while doing that. Fingers crossed for your water test, but my bet is you are good to go.... GOOD JOB !!! -Al

3 blade stainless vs four blade aluminum

Agree on all points - but the rattle. That rattle is occurring due to slop in the drive train, not a sloppy fit on the driveshaft. And you see it most often at a low idle, which can be kinda lumpy on some engines, or engines not in perfect tune. Rattle doesn't hurt a thing. If you run into it...

3 blade stainless vs four blade aluminum

I think the alum. prop flexing might be more of an issue if we were talking twice that amount of power (or more). Unless you are talking about a pretty expensive stainless prop, I actually prefer the alum. for your application. Less concern about drive train damage from a prop strike, they...

    Prop selection 1998 fishin barge

I'm thinking of the 40hp Force or Mariner motors - something I still see frequently on fresh water fishing and pontoon boats. I don't know how much simpler you could get than one of these. A very simple single carb (no fancy idle circuits with tiny jets), similar to one you'd see on a lawn...

    Suggestions for replacement floor covering

Tommy I used a padded vinyl (similar to a wet suit) that feels great under your bare feet, but it's pattern is aggressive enough where you don't want to crawl around on it with your bare knees. It does get hot, and it's expensive. Nearly a thousand for our 24'. It looks great, and at 3 years...

    Prop selection 1998 fishin barge

Force is definitely old school design, and fairly noisy compared to it's competition, but they run great if they're right. There's no denying that among those familiar with them....

    Pontoon Boathouse

Thought was maybe you had a shed or small garage that could be relocated.

    Pontoon Boathouse

Maybe relocate some of that square footage to the lakefront?

My first guess would be a 10p.

    Pontoon Boathouse

Have you considered something like a boat cradle on a little railway leading to a shed on the beach, or a little higher?

    Pontoon on blocks

Is there something wrong with the motor, or are you just wanting to update it?

    Pontoon Boathouse

That's getting pretty creative.... At the very least it would need to be located on water that's never stirred by wind much. The other issue might be hauling it for the winter months. Or can you just pull it up on a beach somewhere?

    Marine vinyl adhesive

Sorry, I missed that! Have you tried heat? Warm the glue a bit, then hit it with a big putty knife?

    Marine vinyl adhesive

I don't have a solution for your glue removal issue, but I'll be honest. With what it took to strip the 'toon down to the point I could install vinyl floor covering, in the grand scheme of things, replacing the plywood didn't seem like that big a deal. With ply replaced, I shouldn't have to mess...

    Honda BF130 problems, needs input

The smaller stuff I work on (40-90hp) do not require that either pulley needs to be removed. The rest of your question seems reasonable, but I'm not sure where your timing marks are or where they are supposed to line up. That should all be covered fairly well in the manual. The last piece...

Ran into a reef & 10 hour service

Kinda like a first dent or scratch in a new vehicle here. Stuff happens.

How is that? No difference from a mechanical standpoint. Any difference is in your head....

2015 Sun Tracker 22 party barge trailer tire size

If I were going to GUESS, I would say 20.5x8.00x10 to keep the bunks low to the ground for easy launch/retrieval. Not that heavy of a boat, and tandem axles to boot, so even 6 ply would work.
