    Kicker motor vs towing

I would be kicking my own A$$ for not checking and paying attention to the weather before I ever went out !! Yes, I have been caught out in severe weather before, nobodies fault but my own for not paying attention and taking a stupid chance..

    Kicker motor vs towing

Not really, my main motor is oil injected two stroke, where my kicker is a pre mix and of course my bow mount runs off LifePo4 battery. If your not responsible enough to know which motor uses which fuel then park your boat and just watch from shore. Some things should not need a regular...

    New Winch or Winch Strap?

Gotta agree here, worked with steel cables for many years, never enjoyed using it. Flat strap for boat trailer and synthetic winch rope for my SxS....never an issue with either one.

    Kicker motor vs towing

Been a boat owner for over 60 years, always had backup propulsion just in case. On smaller boats a set of oars will work ( yes, folks do feel sorry for guys rowing) as my boats got bigger moved to gas powered kickers and in a few cases a good electric trolling motor works. How far you going out...

How to restore this 1961 hull?

Very cool old boat, they were popular in my youth, brings back lots of memories. Would be very cool to see her up and running again, but for the safety of your family, fix it the right way or not at all. Don't gamble on safety!

It rained on my fresh, wet paint!

If it was an enamal, just let it finnish drying, you might end up with a slight dimple mark from the rain drop but should not be an issue. If you try to mess with it before drying thoroughly, you will cause other issues.

    New Winch or Winch Strap?

Way....back in my younger years, winch covers were popular, often home made but kept them cleaner, less sun rot and didn't pick up road crud. Had a couple myself.......but then they seemed to disappear ! Really haven't even thought much about them until I read these posts. If my boat/ trailer...

    Force 40 issues

You may have answered your own question. "Idle is extremely high", rpm needs to be down around 600/650 rpm of your gonna tear something up, if you haven't already done so. Idle speed is set/ adjusted while underway on the water, not on muffs....

    Boat Recommendations

Or...we often added a small extension out the back and called it a doghouse for the outboard, so we could close the overhead door. Mabey that is why most dog houses are behind the garage ??
