    Temp sender removal …

Have used tour idea many times and it does work, but my concern is the fastener is brass and could easily be damaged by a sharp blow, or mashed where it couldn't be removed... if it were steel, I would agree fully.

    Temp sender removal …

Brass and aluminum do not play well together unless a barrier was added to the threads before install. Worse case scenario is the head might need removed to machine out the left overs. I would try heat then cold a few times to see if the corrosion can be broke loose. Good luck.....

    Newbie boat owner

If you plan on keeping this boat, I would beg, borrow, hunt, search, scour until you find a factory service manual for it. I have found most of mine off ebay, and garage sales, but they are necessary for maintenance specs. Good luck.

Good enough RPM or not (92' Yamaha 130 v4 2 stroke)

Looking for my first boat and dwelling too much on the I/O vs Outboard question...

According to my local coast card officer, the mfgr is required to have enough flotation to maintain level flotation ( not sink to the bottom) on all boats under 26' in length. In today's law suit market, mfgrs will do what ever they can to not get sued. My neighbors 29' fiberglass is full of...

    Pressed-in Zerk grease fittings

People don't clean off the fitting before pumping in the grease. Crud on the zerk gets forced in with the grease and often builds up. Not common but does happen, wipe clean the fitting and be sure the nipple on the grease gun is clean before pumping in grease. I normally give a little pump on...
