removing a ford 302 with penta 280 outdrive.

Third place: the shift cable hose. Forth place: the rubber donut where the tail of the bell housing goes through the transom. If the hose is cocked a little it can let water in. My "guess" would be the Y-pipe seal.

    Force 120 problem

(but fuel shoots straight out the 90 degree fitting going into the cylinder, flooding the engine to the point of leaking out off the foot and the carbs. Every time you hit the primer it shoot straight out of it.) Pics of the 90d fitting? You shouldn't be able to see any fuel when you activate...

Filled my 89 OMC Cobra out-drive from the bottom - what next?

It HAS to be filled from the side of the drive. If not there's an air passage that doesn't get oil when filled from the bottom. Turn the motor over and the drive is short about a pint of oil. Then the top gearset self destructs and you looking to buy a new none :( Try U-tube or get a manual...

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

The water sep filter is only good for water and bigger particles. You still need a fine particle filter installed between the pump and carb. Fram G-2 G-3 G-12 will work.

Hello can some one give me a walk through on how to clean a carb 97 15 hp force

First thing: take pics as you go along. Then have a piece of paper to write things down. They used 2 different carbs, figure out the one you have, model# serial# of the motor?? Then the air screw(top of the carb) slowly turn it in and remember the turns in(write it down) then remove. Take pics...

    1998 force 120

First thing, try a different gauge??? Does it have compression when you remove the plugs and cover the hole with your finger as you turn it over. You using the starter to turn it? or by hand? turning by hand won't do much for a comp test. No comp n ANY hole doesn't sound right??? Reed valves...

    1993 40hp force Loose Wire.

Usually a motor with electric start and charging capability's has a warning horn. That part that's circled is called the thermoswitch. The switch hooks into the wiring harness and then that connects to a buzzer. Try grounding the wire/sender to the block(key on) the buzzer should sound off????

    Timing Question

An outboard tied to a dock and then trying to get wide open throttle?? Doesn't work unless you have the test wheel replacing the prop. That's why the factory suggests static timing.

Force 70hp, starter went out replaced still wont start

You have a primer instead of the old choke system. To use the primer: you turn the key and as you turn you push the key in 1 time and let it come back out. The old choke system: turn the key and push in as you turn, this closes the choke butterflies and that draws extra fuel into the cylinders...
