These 125's need the VOLVO prop.
The aftermarket ones are ok for the bigger motors not the 4cyl. Volvo's
No way to add power trim/tilt unless you change the transom brackets. That would be a HUGE job if you had the T@T from another motor.
Prop story: one of my friends had a 22ft. with a 125 He...

This is a parts breakdown for the 270 drive.
Your lucky as if the motor was a V-8 you'd have to pull the motor to do the service :)
You posted: maybe primary drive bearing and bell housing bearings ? ..
I'd pull the top of the drive and inspect the drive shaft.
The 125 has 1 bearing and that can be serviced from the outside.
On the top/back of the bell housing is a grease fitting that most people don't utilize or even know...
If it's an 89 you can just about bet the wire's bad. :(
I thought the plug wires were part of the coil and couldn't be replaced????
Post a pic??
I've changed the plug boot and covered the wire with double shrink wrap and liquid electric tape(actually worked)
Put on a pic of the needle next to a ruler.
I'll see if I have the right one in my stuff????
It's at 64 posts, the last are about carb stuff, might be time to start another thread??
OOOPS!! I see you already did that. :(
Fram G-2 G-3 G-12 what ever fits your fuel line.
All 3 are good small particle filters.
I installed a G-2 on a travel lift that was plagued with fuel delivery problems. It worked great until someone tried burning water instead of gas :(
That's the first thing that should have been done SOP
We can't help if you don't follow the suggestions??
I've worked on hundreds of these things and the first thing I would do is clean the slide and choke.
Pics are part#s for the item shown.
Did the boat and motor come as a package?
Contact the manufacturer and see if they have the info?
Give them the hull ID#
That pic is where the motor gets it's air.
And it's missing the cover, that shouldn't cause it to smoke so much it kills the motor.
A motor that's being worked on will smoke a lot more because of the flooding effect of trying to start the motor frequently and not getting it hot enough to burn...
