    This is probably what you need to do to your shift shaft. Go to the 2/3 or 3/4 mark of this video and you will need your correct measurement.

    Whoa, so many things to correct. Let's start with the low voltage issue. Do you have an electrical meter? You need to trace your battery wire connectors and see if their maintaining voltage along the way. Do you have wing nuts on your battery? If so replace them with nuts. Might be your nutruel...

    Pop off opens at high speed so yes that could be it otherwise clogged water passages on the starboard side. Sound like the past owner knew there was something wrong and Mikey moused it.

    Check the fitting, it might be cracked. If the right size hoses are used it's hard to have a leak.

    I use the steering wheel puller like you have on the upper left hand picture. I tighten the heck out of it and give it several big taps with a large size steel hammer.

    If it's a 96 then your original plugs are correct and they are still available.

    An old outboard is worth whatever your willing to pay and how much you need it. I would advise doing a compression check and then do a new assessment.

    Is it sneezing at idle in nutruel or when you go to take off it hesitates? With those motors, on the link and sync you want the timing to advance a little before the carb starts to open.
