Swap drives from one boat to another. How many day project?

Little change of plans… the engine has a bit of a rear main leak and it looks a little rough from sitting in a water logged glasser… I found a nice engine for cheap, local if checks out. Its identical to the one I just put in

Swap drives from one boat to another. How many day project?

Gaining on it…. Gimbals on. Engine is in. No pics because we were hustling. Bad part is the wiring is different, the steering won’t hook up. The cable is too long, and it’s seized to the old steering tube. So it’s time for a new helm… I pulled the main harness from the parts boat…. The old...

Anybody know about Ford DIS ignitions?

You could watch the spark with a scope. Scanner you could watch pids… but for something like that, it’s a pretty safe bet to toss a coil on it

Anybody know about Ford DIS ignitions?

Yup. It’s a waste spark system so it sparks every time. With limited tools I’d put a coil on it. If you had a scanner or a scope. You could watch it. But being intermittent it might ohm okay and still be bad. I don’t think coils for that are too expensive. I buy most of my car parts from rock...

Carlisle tires have been owned by Carlstar group for some time now and are no longer a USA tire brand. They had a few lines of USA made tires remaining but not anymore. Handful of companies make the small floater type trailer tires. Kenda and Maxis are the ones to buy unless a USA trail is...

Help identifying my boat. 1975 Princecraft

Ford distributor in front. Chevy in back. 888 and 898 signify which it is but I can’t remember which way. 898 is Chevy I think. But in 40+ years you may have had a swap. You will need an OEM mercruiser manual and that’s all you will need/find.. you may find structural issues with the boat…...

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

Oh I know. But it’s supposed to be unladen weight which would be a pain to unload the boat on land fully ( I can if needed ). if I can get a good picture I can do it all with paperwork
