    Some good stuff happening

We are ONLINE in the garage! :whoo: This morning I'd tried the "tip" that the seller had mentioned but still no joy. So I replied back with all the pertinent info. A little while ago I received another email from the seller with a recommended configuration change and BOOM! We're online...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

The only thing I did related to the KF today was to put the trolling motor for sale on craigslist. That 28 lb. thrust MotorGuide just isn't quite enough for this boat. I've known that for awhile but time is getting to the point where I need to get a replacement with more thrust pretty soon...

    Some good stuff happening

And we did take a few minutes to have some dinner out there during the installation. (Yeah, that's my burned up leg in the pic.)

    Some good stuff happening

Got the WiFi and Cable TV cables run into the building a couple days ago. Had hoped to show a pic of the WiFi router working inside that all steel building, bouncing signals around and whatnot. But not yet. Gonna be another day or so until that happens. The new router arrived...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I did receive a drill guide a few days ago. Hoping to get that bad boy put to use in the not-too-distant future.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Small tasks. Uh huh. Right. A couple days ago I took a look at the bow braces and realized that I need to just go ahead and make some brand new ones. The existing braces are kinda chewed up from being installed and uninstalled during all my experimenting. My ol' buddy needs a favor...

Woohoo! I finally got a workbench!

So yesterday I ended up getting a nicely finished piece of 3/4" plywood from HD for the bench top. It's so nice looking that the store clerk who was making the sizing cuts for me suggested that I put a nice varnish job on it. Heh heh. :p My buddy was over at my place working on another task...

    GOES-S launch

Yeah, it's pretty cool stuff. This is a shuttle launch as seen from our driveway back in 2012. And we're 150 miles from the launch complex.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Three different Starcraft in this ad, including a 26 footer. https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/boa/d/starcraft-25-ft-chieftain/6501378119.html

    GOES-S launch

Well, it was a perfect launch! And this was our view.... stupid clouds. :blue:

    GOES-S launch

The weather looks good for the big Atlas-5 launch vehicle to lift the GOES-S into orbit at 1702 EST. We're watching live coverage on NASA-TV and if all goes well, we'll be able to see the rocket heading skyward from the vantage point at the end of my driveway after it lifts off. We have partly...

    Model Airplanes

Yup! I got started when I went to a hobby shop to buy a plastic model kit and saw all kinds of flying models hanging from the ceiling. When the store clerk told me about them, I got hooked. Started with with this rubber-powered Guillow's Fairchild 24. After I learned how to actually make it...

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Who, me? We pulled the 20 gallon tank from the Chief today. It's too small for my purpose so I'm putting it on c-list. I need to find something in the 35-40 gallon size.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

The bow brace is outta there! :p I was running around doing other project stuff for most of today, but we finally got the brace out this evening. Tomorrow I'll start the OTF treatment on the wood pieces. Then we wait for it to dry and whatnot. The boy first did the final...

Woohoo! I finally got a workbench!

Picked this up from craigslist this morning. Measures 72x27x34. Yes, the vise was included. It's a moderate duty unit but should be plenty good enough for my needs. No welding and no pounding on the table. Am thinking that I'll cover the top with some sheet steel. But first I'd add...

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

This evening my old buddy and his son came over and we got the Chief off the blocks and hooked to the truck. Moved it over close to the house so that the boy can begin cleanup tomorrow. (He has a 1/2 day at school and is much chagrined that he won't be just playing. ) We'll get the junk...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Well guys, my goal splash date of 21Mar18 ain't gonna happen. There is just too much that needs to be done before then. It was an arbitrary and non-critical date anyway so I'm not upset. We don't need the boat until our vacation this summer and I'll definitely have it on the water...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Yesterday I bought this cheap impact driver from HF. Light duty but it'll work for my needs. It beats breaking my wrist like I was trying to do with that cowl hood part the other day. This new driver also uses the same battery as my cordless drill, so I didn't have to buy anything else...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Hahaha! I wish! Stripping paint from this old boat has been a mighty struggle for me for weeks now. Switching to the aircraft stripper is what helped the most. I'd been using the wrong "flavor" of the Jasco stripper and it just wasn't "hot" enough for the job at hand. Of course I didn't...
