    Quit on the Water!

I don't recall seeing an Access Hole on our 64 5.5, I do remember it on the 57 35. The 63 40hp didn't have it either. Only time I saw the Points on that engine was when the Flywheel came loose, and lifted off the Crank

    Quit on the Water!

I recall in the late 50s OMC put an Access Hole in the Flywheels of the 35hps, which helped locating the Points, where they would be fully open, and allowed adjustment without taking the Flywheel off. They later did away wth that and put some Ridges on the Armature Plate where a special Timing...

    Need advice

If they sent you an engine that wasn't the one you ordered, but charged you the price for the one ordered, then they shouldn't be trying to Jack you up for more, in fact they should be paying the return Shipping, and the cost of shipping the Correct Engine. Is there an Office in your State for...

Jack Plate question regarding short shaft vs. long (standard) shaft

Looking at the Picture, I don't have any Confidence in that Transom. It looks like there are several places where water will get in, and torn Fiberglass.

    Need advice

Did they ship the engine that you Ordered? Your post implies you may have ordered the Wrong Engine. If that the case, it was your mess up, not theirs, and if there is a Price Difference, you would be expected to pay it.

Semi Legal Tow Boat. Where's the Spotter? When in the Water, bring your Knees to your Chest, then place your Arms around your Knees, that usually keeps the Skies in line upon initial pull. 1980s mercury 115 tower of power issues!

Spraying copious amounts of Carb Cleaner in the the carb really does F all, except cleaning the Throat, and Throttle Valve, and reeds. To clean the Carb it needs to be removed, disassembled, and subjected to the Cleaner. The Floats on those Tillotson Carbs have tendency to get stuck(at least the...
