    Yamahas oil injection is heads and tails above OMCs Vro system. Is the the VRO even hooked up on the Evinrude? Vro is not a bad system but requires more Maint.

    Sounds like the switchbox is bad. Cdi electronics has the testing procedure for your ignition.

    You measure from where the motor rests on the transom to the cavitation plate.

    Yamaha has a MUUUUCH better oil injection system. It is overall a better motor.

    That is an OMC built motor. Some parts are scarce some will be easy to find.

    All things being equal the 2oo3 Yamaha without a doubt. But it comes down to maintenance.

    When those caps don't Vent they pressurize the tank. And yours is old enough to have a bad cap.

    I am just trying to keep things professional. You know when you don't read the whole post, then ask questions that have been answered. Everything gets confused. Everything you asked him was answered in other posts. I was Just asking a Question God you are thin skinned.

    Pull the heads take pics and post them. I dont think the 140 is special. But early 135s had the high compression heads.

    Charging system has nothing to do with spark. Go to CDI electronics they have a testing guide for them. I wont even put the UFI ignition back in. I always do the conversion to get the cdi out from under the flywheel. Have you checked the lanyard switch? The ignition switch if you have one?

    Yellow wires are alternator wires Battery charging only. Where did you get the new power pak? The UFI ignitions can be problematic.
