Not when it's off, but running should come out of the relief ports on the transom and/or the prop. Might take 30-60 seconds to fill.

    Thunderbolt 5.0 keeps dying

That's the job of the OP switch. If you're jumping it correctly, you should have 12v at the fuel pump terminal. Sounds like you aren't jumping it correctly or you need to jump to the fuel pump directly.

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

Not sure why you guys don't think that water can get to these bolts. They are exposed to water and sealed with a rubber oring. My bolts were severely corroded, and water had rotted the area around the bolts.

Trim down switch: connects grn/wht to red/purple Trim up switch: connects p/w to r/p. If switch is closed (motor down) p/w connects to blu/wht Trailer switch: connects r/p to b/w, bypassing limit switch Red/purple is hot. If the blu/wht wire is hot, motor goes up. Grn/wht hot lowers drive

Probably as a workaround for a bad trim limit sensor. In that case, the "up" trim button doesn't work but down does, and the trailer button works to raise the drive. If that button doesn't work, there was probably a bad switch and a bad sensor, and this was somebody's solution.

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

Disagree. Water can definitely enter through the bolt holes. Same as any transom penetration. See my above comment.

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

I filled with 4200 before installing the bolts. Looked like a vulnerable area. My bolts were severely corroded with some surrounding transom rot. I cleaned the transom area, filled with resin/PB, redrilled first. In retrospect just the 4200 probably would have been enough to fill the void, as...

new vs. old thunderbolt ignition sensor

True. I was thinking he meant does the TB system limit fuel normally. But yeah, op switch/fuel pump/choke would come to mind otherwise

    oil leak on 3.0

Switches are a royal pita. I wouldn't bother unless you're in there for something else. I've had them working for maybe 3 of the 14 seasons I've had this boat.

Still having shift issues and need / like some input

Yeah, that should show up as an increase in the cable throw though--the shoe has to rotate more to engage the gears. Would be tough to measure it with the drive on, at least accurately. There's specs in the manual including how to measure it.
