    Ignition switch failing?

Huh, you mean like this? Was tracking down a voltage drop this weekend. Still got 0.25v across the switch, but this cost me almost 1v with no load

    Dripping engine block fitting

It's just a standard npt pipe fitting, but I don't remember the size. ¼?

    1994 5.7L Weber carb

Yup, I jumped to fuel without reading closely and noticing the misfire

    New to forum

The space between is dry. Also that lower seal goes in the opposite way you'd expect, lip faces up. It should stop a leak from that upper seal if the drive shaft is installed.

Cracked block - now looking to replace motor

Your outdrive will work. Are all the accessories coming with the new motor?

    Dripping engine block fitting

It'll drain a couple of gallons. Of course we have no idea what engine you have... Also, what's the rest of that rust from?

    Motor Knock

Yeah, I'd be concerned about the crank, maybe bearings if it dropped that hard. I'd at least demand an extended engine warranty for a year or 2

    1976 Mercruiser 233 (Ford 351w) carburetor issue

Correct. There are linkage adjustments but I don't know them off hand. Do you have a rebuild manual?

You can probably use old software and set your computers date back, but I haven't tried it

    1994 5.7L Weber carb

Again, float level and drop are part of the adjustment. If you're running that rich it probably isn't the idle adjustment unless that's where you do most of your boating

    1994 5.7L Weber carb

How did you adjust the carb? At the very minimum you need to check your float levels and make sure your needle valve is closing. But a rebuild is probably in order. Also need to check your fuel pressure.

    Possibly seized motor?

I'd rather strip out an alternator pulley bolt than my crankshaft. There's a tool that bolts to the balancer you can use. Alternatively I've replaced the balancer pulley bolts with longer bolts and then used a pry bar to turn the balancer.

Cracked block - now looking to replace motor

Fwiw, the newer motors may have composite head gaskets as well... The '01 that I pulled had composite hg and brass core plugs.

Cracked block - now looking to replace motor

The core plugs on the new motor are likely already brass. Check before pulling them out. Also, is your old motor v belt or serpentine?

Mercruiser 4.3L Just clicks once when trying to start! Help!!

Battery isn't low (12.7v). You're getting a bit of a drop when cranking, but 11.8 should be enough to get it to turn over. Have you made sure that the engine turns over by hand? Have you tried jumping the terminals at the starter? There's a good troubleshooting section in the stickies...

Ooooh, extra points for using your boat motor to pull the vacuum!

    Wiring help/Electronic gauge

Went ahead and bought this gauge mostly to replace my speedo with a GPS unit. I'd also very much like an accurate tach as well, as I have a new engine and am trying to dial in my carb and prop. This also comes with voltmeter, fuel gauge, oil pressure, and temp capabilities. Haven't taken it out...

1986 Alpha One has leaked oil since service....

Look for "mityvac vacuum pump". That's a brand, so once you know what you're looking for you can probably find cheaper knock offs.

    Age old outdrive question

I liked my 470. If the engine and especially the floor is in OK shape, the outdrive is not a big deal. Have you pulled the drive and pressure tested yet? Agreed not sure how that much lube is getting into your bilge.
