Temperature switch circuit 2000 Johnson 150hp

OK, D/C the two wire sensor. Connect a 1 wire sensor to the tan wire for overheat warning. Have you checked the pulse limiter, vapor pump, vapor separator cover?

Temperature switch circuit 2000 Johnson 150hp

SLOW limits the spark advance and keeps the engine RPM down. A healthy waterpump will pump at 30PSI plus. Of course, there is no way to check this without a water pressure gauge, which I do recommend. Obviously you need to repair/replace waterpump before using boat. I recommend a full kit...

    The newest outboard from Mercury

Gee, a 600HP pontoon boat...Just what I always wanted. $77K seems pretty high. I would expect you could get more HP for less $, with multiple engines. And as my neighbor says, the more engines the more fish you can catch...... The torque on that rotating gearcase must be massive. Kinda like...

how to change a prop on mercruiser alpha one outdrive 4.3L 2010 bayliner BR 195

The nut is usually easy to remove. You have bent all 3 of the "legs" of the spider washer toward the rear of the boat to allow the nut to turn, right? A large screwdriver usually works for this. A 2X4 from the zinc fin behind the prop to the "neck" of the outdrive will jam the prop safely, to...

Temperature switch circuit 2000 Johnson 150hp

OK, looks to be a 60* V6 2 cycle motor. It should have the SLOW mode, activated by either temp sender. Where does your motor show "hot"? On the System Check gauge? I would disconnect the 2 wire sensor and see that the warning goes away. The ignition must be turned off to reset the hot...

Temperature switch circuit 2000 Johnson 150hp

What is engine model number? A lot of Johnson outboard motors go into SLOW mode when they overheat. They often have a horn that signals overheat.

    Firestone boat motor

Old Johnson/evinrudes also used them on their fuel pumps. Try 1959 big twin motors, from 25-40HP. If those are too small, the fat fifty from '58 - '59 used them as well.

    Trim

That motor should have a 2 wire PTT motor. Relays provide ground to the motor (up relay to blue wire on PTT motor, down relay to green wire), when not energized. When energized, relays provide power to their respective wires. Since only one relay is energized at a time, either up or down...

    Cracked mercury powerhead

I have seen that type of crack in that area on motors that overheated. I am not sure what caused the "dimple" though.

    1998 Mercury 135 hp 2 stroke Type: 9135412TD

If you see milky fuel into the fuel filter, the main tank likely has water in it. Start with a clean portable fuel tank. Fill with new fuel from a reputable source. See if you still see milky fuel. I

Mounting shifting and throttle cables to contr

That back slider piece with the 1332P marking looks to move forward when the throttle is advanced. Maybe the cable attaches to something near it? Did you do some research on the OEM's website? That control looks like the one on my '98 boat with a Johnnyrude. I would therefore expect the...

    Power Trim (A-45194A13) Question

Take the hydraulic lines off the pump. The hydraulic ports on the cylinders strip real easy. The lines are full of oil. The pump will not leak much, just the oil on the outside part of the control valve. A fraction of an oz.

1973 85 hp Needs Ignition Help

The pulse is very short. I would therefore think you would need an o-scope to see the pulse to the coil. Maybe a DVA would also work.

1973 85 hp Needs Ignition Help

There is a troubleshooting procedure for your ignition on the CDIElectronics web page. It will assume the coil is good, and test everything but the trigger. if the test produces spark, the trigger is suspect. Note: You need to have +12VDC on both the red terminal of the switchbox and the...

See my response in the other forum. Merc OB's push the throttle closed.

Mounting shifting and throttle cables to contr

Move the throttle and see what attachment point moves in the right direction. Mercury OBs push the throttle closed. J/E OBs push the throttle open. Not sure about Yammies. Also, I have a similar (identical) control for 1998, so you may be able to get some info on the control from the OEM.
