    2nd wiped Camshaft OMC 460

If the cam he took out did not have a damaged lobe then i wouldn’t think it was a bore alignment issue

Alpha One Upper Gears - Are there HD versions?

the heavy duty alpha parts is called a bravo drive.... seriously don’t think so as anyone who is making a lot of power will run something heavier than a alpha. You see a fair number of folks running 383 s with alphas , based on your use you don’t anything upgraded if the alpha is in good condition.

    What Pitch To Buy

Determine what your current prop wot rpm is before buying a new prop. Where you land in terms of wot rpm will determine if you need to tweak pitch. if your current prop is at yhe upper end of your max recommended wot range then yes drop and inch of pitch and you should be ok. If its on the low...

    95 MerCruiser 4.3 cracked block

If you get w truck 4.3 from a wrecking yard and rebuild it its your best bet. Very little diff between a truck and marine engine- marine head gaskets and brass freeze plugs thats it. Cam is slightly different but general consensus is truck cam will work fine. Strip it to long block and move...

Opinions on shop's quoted Bravo 3 maintenance cost

You’re close to DC richmond and fredricksburg. Bottom line closer to some metropolitan areas that probably not bad pricing. The bellows parts alone are close to $300. If They’re in there they might as well do the shift cable and check the gimbal bearing. i would think the bellows even if it...

    1992 Bayliner Cuddy 3.0 Mercruiser

Then that was a 2.5 l not the bigger 3.0. My neighbors growing up had one in a 17 or 18 ft starcraft (1969), skiied almost everyday with it. Was tough to get up slalom on it . Definitely could have used mire power

Opinions on shop's quoted Bravo 3 maintenance cost

They are both on the high side, maybe the bellows less so. The impeller depending on where it is located in the engine compartment/acess maybe a MF to do. where are you located? Is it a more expensive area?

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

Did you get the intake too? In the photo it looked like you had the pre vortec 12 bolt intake vs the 8 vertical bolt Vortec intake you need to fit vortecs. Intake gaskets are diff as well.

    Trim not going down

Or the wiring from the switch take the switch out and test for continuity when you operate it. Wires could be chaffed in the throttle

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

GM used dished pistons on both 5.7 and 5.0 , really all their engines, so your stock compression ratio of 9.0-9.4 or so is based on stock type dished pistons. If you have a non stock dish volume that would affect compression but otherwise you should be ok.

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

305 and 350 intakes are the Same. cant help you with casting numbers but you could at this point upgrade to newer vortec heads and gain about 30-40 hp. You also need a vortec intake as they have a different bolt pattern but i think worth if you need heads anyways. these guys have a couple of...
