Trim Clicks and Makes noise, but won't go up or down

Don't know about a "good" way. Get container, ratchet straps and rags. When boat is close by, disconnect lines from trim pump and put them in the container. Place ratchet straps on drive and lift drive out from rear cleats or other that is available

Sounds like you need a new trim pump It gets hot when running, doesn't move much and is full of fluid

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Maybe, the issue is when its in the water and motor stopped, the pressure is increased inside the exhaust. Running on muffs has very little pressure. To make it a bit safe, remove the exhaust boot and stick the hose down the exhaust pipe letting water run out with motor off

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Tightening the bolts would not require rechecking alignment Tightening the bolts may cause them to snap off IF they are corroded and have eroded internally. IMO, once something is old and starts leaking, tightening fasteners will have no effect If the water is coming from the exhaust O-ring...

Trim Clicks and Makes noise, but won't go up or down

Either a weak battery (should be 12.7V for lead acid) Or there is a bad connection, meaning wire, terminal lug or relay contact. With it doing the same in both directions Look close at the wires and that even the ground is clean and tight. Don't just look, remove the wires and verify they...

Don't have firt hand knowledge but most handles are removed by moving the shifter full forward. Then the center button can be removed and the nut which holds the handle. The Merc handles are in the link https://www.mercruiserparts.com/remote-controls-and-components

Help wiring Bennett Auto trim pro and module into existing boat wiring for complete newb

No where in the manual nor the many times I talked to Bennett Tech support (MJ Thomas) did they ever say the Orange is on switchable power. The main unit stays ON but draws very little power. Many turn Bat switches OFF when they depart

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

If its soft there is no easy fix. Take a Philips screw driver and try to press it into the transom. ON SECOND thought DON'T DO THAT. My thought is its soft, and if you push a screw driver into the transom it may turn into a really bad leak

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

I would say transom leak. Probably not the transom assembly though it might be. Most likely the transom is soft and needs to be replaced

Mercruiser 3.0 base timing a myth?

Yes Set timing Disconnect white jumper and reconnect shift interrupter. With timing light still connected, and engine at IDLE, verify that timing did advance to 12? BTDC, (plus or minus 2?). At 2400-2800 RPM maximum (total) advance is obtained and should be 27? BTDC (plus or minus 2?).

    Wrong timing set up

We've gone from "what damage could this cause" to the motor is locked up? Your unable to crank over the motor. What happens when key is turned to start? Is this a I/O or Inboard?
