3.0l very high rpm on start up

The throttle should be in neutral, which I'm sure it is. Other then that just need initial adjust

3.0l very high rpm on start up

Ok Throttle cable should be same length as original. Changing the cable should not change the adjustment. Dont see how a cable would get that much slop

Volvo Penta trim tilt wiring trouble

That is classic corrosion issue. When you hit the trim the voltage drops so much that the motor dies. Look closer at the cable ends and do remove both ends of both cables to clean and inspect

The purple goes to the kill switch in the throttle handle. If it is pulled there will be no power to the gauges or motor The yellow/red goes to neutral safety switch and then to starter solenoid Normally when the kill switch is pulled or bad, there is no power to gauges, but you can still...

3.0l very high rpm on start up

Remove the throttle cable and hold the carb closed, does it still go high? If it doesn't, adjust cable so it just slides back in place on the carb. Then remove again and turn the barrel one more turn so it applies a slight pressure to hold carb closed

    5.7 EFI won’t turn over

No gauges but rest of helm. If rest of the helm is things like fish finders, blower, check your the 15 or 20 amp ignition fuse. Check to see if there is 12V on the red/purple going to the key switch. If there is no power then its most likely the fuse/breaker

    Delco EST High Idle

Yes As in post 2, you need the other side of the switch to go to 12V power when the key is ON. Meaning it goes to the purple wire that goes to the + side of the coil, or spliced off another purple wire location like the excite lead on the alternator
