    What I have found so far is the manifold gaskets are different. Most of the gasket sets also include the intake and exhaust sets. The engine block is the same Exp Manifold gasket LX 27-815528, L 27-96429. Front end cap is different for the two also.

    Yours is probably one designed to mount vertical to drain. In any case you could cut the hose and install a Tee. They are made to install after the sea water pump for winterization (have one on mine). Sorry BT if were hijacking, last post just for info.

    You could probably go to a junk yard and find a piston. IMO you need to bore the motor, look at the difference in piston gap, it appears (to me) the bore has dished out on the bottom. There is a difference side to side. maybe it's just the pic

    There is a slave solenoid on top the motor. It has four wires on it, you want to jump across the two large terminals on top. Once lumped the starter should engage and crank the motor.

    Not sure, been looking around but, this might be one of those Homer Simpson Doh moments. I think you should find a shorter belt and run it from the water pump pulley to the ALT, don't go around the crankshaft.
