    1973 ss 120 aluminum 18ft . i have a bare solid copper wire coming off of my inner transom plate port side. where does it go? ground to gas tank? igot it attached to engine block right now but before i start it i would like to get it right.

    Where can i get the travel support rod ive seen that hooks around the top of outdrive to the trim bolts and what is it called, i use a small ratchet strap.

    Would it be possible to use a dial ?indicator to align engine to bearing. Maybe a coaxial indicator or maybe as a final check after using bar.

    well i took outdrive off,it fell off by itself so align ment was close to perfect i'd say. Take al look and see what you think but it looks well taken care of and serviced . gimble bearing smooth. some liquid in bellows but not water looks like thinned grease. the ring on shaft is melted rubber...

    I think mines bad boat wont go and people by the back said they smelled rubber. shifter engages with little effort but prop ratchets when in the right position. Also when i crank engine get squeal noise. Will rotate engine and see if shaft turns. 1973 120 mercruiser ran great but treating it...
