    any aftermarket cams available?

    I was curious as if there were any available cams for a merc 140? Also, I was wondering if there's room to port the head, smooth out the chambers, maybe put in larger valves? Are roller rockers available? Can you port match the intake/exhaust? I searched but couldn't find much.

    Does this sound right

    I had the gps out today. And I was looking at my MPH at WOT. a merc 140, 16' Tri-hull, With a 17p prop I'm only getting about 4000RPM about 4250 if I mess with the trim. and a top speed of 34-36 mph. Does this sound right? Shouldn't I be more at like 4500-4600 rpm w/ this prop at about 45?

    how stable would my boat be in rougher water

    Finally got her out!!! ....new issues...

    impeller issues?

    Is there anything else at all besides an impeller problem that would cause lack of circulation throughout the engine? When I put the out drive on, I'm pretty certain everything was okay in the impeller department. Is there anyway an outdrive could have internal leaks or have problems...

    hmmmm

    So i took out my drain plugs and I didn't get any water out, I dug around with a pick for awhile and I didn't even get a trickle. Whats going on? I just have a feeling that its a bad bad thing.

    one thing after another....

    Well, i was making sure everyting was okay on the boat before the maiden voyage, and I took of the prop, and i got gear oil all in that opening behind the prop. How many seals are in there, do I have to buy a special tool to get everything out?

    I ran my boat for awhile and it started running pretty hot. What things can cause that on a boat? I know the impeller is good. Could the water not be turned on high enough on the muffs?

    can you tell me about my prop

    I have a 1973 tri-hull 16' that weighs 1600lbs w/ engine, dry. It has a 140 hp mercruiser. It appears my prop is about 14" diameter and it says 17p on it. How good of a holeshot, and top speed will this prop have for me, is it a good prop? What does the pitch number actually mean?
