    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

Here's what I am talking about. I bought one just like it in, oh, 1974 or so for our small block Chevy but also had a Ford 302 V8 that it worked on. The coupling between the 2 ends fits into a 3/8ths drive ratchet. Very handy! The 90* bend side is Ford, the other is Chevy.

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

It's probably your classic Chevy/Ford distributor wrench, one side is 1/2" the other is 9/16ths. Can't recall which is which right now lol.

I also go by the company’s rep. Kenda Tire has been in business since 1962, based in Taiwan. I had good luck with those so will probably stick with them. They are one of the few that makes a 15” trailer tire that has a deep off road tread more resistant to punctures, good for some of the lousy...

To do that (LT) you need to go up to 16” rims….

    Trailer tires.

Funny thing. Back in the old days of the 1970s we all drive big American cars with belted bias tires. Now they didn’t handle well ans only lasted like 25,000 miles. But never had a tread separation which was the bane of early American made radials. Remember the Firestone 500 and Wilderness AT...

    Trailer tires.

Some 16” tires max out at 3400 lbs each! Expensive though. Always thought big RVs look silly with those little 15” Rims and 225/75-15 tires! Vehicles have used that size since the late 90s! Time for trailer companies to quit nickel and dimming people on safety!

    early spring maintenance

I believe they are NPT threads so use some gas resistant sealer and get it good & snug. Same for the pick up tube

Sounds like you got your money's worth though. A bias tire won't do that because there are no added belts to come loose but sure you can get a blow out when the tire overheats. The other thing is this, most people have no idea how much their towed load weighs, unless you actually weigh it. So...

    early spring maintenance

because behind every nut, bolt, fitting, etc, lurks Murphy! Just replaced the original 28 year old sway bar links on my old '98 Jeep, thank goodness I had a tie rod end puller! No more clunks from the front end finally. Next is the steering stabilizer, these also use a tapered stud, so the only...

Pushing Run-Flat tires to the limit

Agreed, for buying another vehicle no spare tire is a no sale for me. You can use a temp spare but be careful on AWD vehicles, I recall on our latest Subaru you must put the temp spare on the rear, so if you flat is on the front, you have to move a good tire from the rear to the front, so both...

Pushing Run-Flat tires to the limit

I replaced the temp spare tires on both of our Subarus with a real tire, there was just enough room to squeeze it in there. If I had a car built with out a spare tire, I might just carry one on long trips like that if I didn't need the full luggage space. On the Chrysler Pacifica I rented...

    Trailer tires.

Bias ply vs Radials: Bias is good for local towing, rougher roads, lousy boat ramps, because the sidewalls are usually about 2x as thick as a radial. Most radials other than a full steel tire have only a 2 ply polyester sidewall. A Load Range D bias tire has an actual 4 ply sidewall (but rated...

Pushing Run-Flat tires to the limit

Don’t you miss a full size spare? I carry a charged 1/2” drive impact gun on long trips in case I have to change a tire esp when we’d be heading up to Montreal for the F1 or Watkins Glen for NASCAR. We did rent a Chrysler Pacifica that didn’t have a spare for the F1 trip last year and it was on...

I have used Kenda Load Star bias ply tires for over 20 years with no failures.

I’d at least pull it to see if there’s water in the bellows & check the gimble bearing & ujoints. At 19 years I can’t believe that the bellows ISNT all dried out and cracked!

    I HATE AUTOMATIC BILGE PUMPS!

Checked it every few days, or get someone at the marina to keep an eye on it. I have my boat behind my house and we all keep an eye on each other's boats.

The usual cause: VW used cloth covered fuel lines instead of using clamps when the cloth got old and rotted the lines got loose Also owners added plastic fuel filters in the line from the pump to the carb, these can crack and split and spray fuel all over the engine The right way to do it is get...

stand back, look at parts, scratch our head while mumbling.... Started with this, in 1972....yeah those are my 17 year old greasy fingerprints... back when you could buy them in print I used to buy the shop manual for all my vehicles. Last one I got was for my 2007 Grand Cherokee, it's on my...

Probably add to that, the power steering cooler that is mounted on the rear of the engine like OMCs had it. This is one of the main reasons people are going to outboards, no one wants to deal with the hassles of draining these things every time the temp drops, and the boat companies make it...
