    Missing bolt 4.3 mercruiser

Looking at it again, it could be water, are you sure that you don't have water in the oil? Look under the oil fill cap/valve cover to see if you have any mayonnaise looking emulsified crud in there. Like this from mine when I had blown head gaskets/water in the motor oil.

    I HATE AUTOMATIC BILGE PUMPS!

I think a simple float switch as long as not prone to fouling with debris is simpler and better!

    I HATE AUTOMATIC BILGE PUMPS!

Agreed the odd thing is that I find with my boat it gets less in the bilge from rain water when it's actually out on the mooring than when it's in the driveway.

    I HATE AUTOMATIC BILGE PUMPS!

The best auto bilge switches I used were the Sure Bails with the Mercury switches. First one lasted 12 years and the one I put in after that is about the same age now. I bought a spare back then so if this one fails I have a replacement. They don’t make these anymore as far as I know….

    which carb to upgrade/replace too

The anti siphon valve is not for preventing fuel from running back to the tank it is there as a safety device, in case the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump leaks, fuel cannot siphon out of the tank into the bilge. This can be the case if the fuel line drops lower than the top of the tank...

    trim cylinder issue

all done I took apart a spare pair because my trim ram rods were getting pitted and the end loops were all rotted too, so I used the ram rod from my spares in my original cylinders and did not have to disturb any of the hydraulic lines. This Cobra style cylinder is what early Volvo SXs had...

    trim cylinder issue

Ok when I did my Cobra cylinders in the instructions I got with the BRP kit there is a trick using a tin can to compress the split rings without damaging them. I’ll see if I can find pix of what I did.

    trim cylinder issue

You dont even have to remove the cylinders from the transom mount to do this job, as long as none of the trim hoses are leaking!

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

The ZJ Grand (1993-1998) was originally released with the 4.0 and that continued all the way to the end of the next Grand series (WJ, 1999-2004) the 5.2 V8 was available in the ZJ from 1993 on up. The main difference was the V8 had a lot more torque. The 4.0 towed my 20' boat OK, but my '07 WK...
