    70 hp rectifier wiring

So I guess I can cut that open plug off the red wire and hook it to the 12v battery post of the solenoid and I should be ok?

    70 hp rectifier wiring

According to the wiring diagram I don't see anything coming off starter solenoid that would connect back to red rectifier wire

    70 hp rectifier wiring

This is the wire that was currently hooked up to the red wire from the rectifier (at the terminal block). The rubber half a connector is just loose not connected to anything but is located near the starter and solenoid

    70 hp rectifier wiring

I have a red wire that ends with an open socket single pin connector. It goes from the red rectifier connection point on the terminal block and runs to the port side near the solenoid. I must be missing another piece of that to connect to the solenoid? Motor runs fine but not charging

    70 hp rectifier wiring

That's the problem. The wires on the new rectifier are readable but the motor wires not too much. Where does the red wire come from?

    70 hp rectifier wiring

I have an 1986 evinrude 70 hp 3 cylinder. Not sure if rectifier is hooked up correctly. I only have a seloc manual and don't completely trust the diagram. Anyone confirm which wires the 2 yellow and 1 red wire connector to on the terminal block? It is new to me so just making sure things are...

1986 70 hp throttle cam question

Noticed my new to me 86 evinrude 70 hp the throttle cam has 2 marks. Not sure what the difference is between the 2? For now I link and synced using the lower mark to make contact with the carb roller when it's supposed to. Does anyone have any input on the 2 marks and which mark to go by? The...

    70 hp water flow

My 86 evinrude 70 hp 3 cylinder I picked up seems strange. I put a new water pump in it but the telltale stream isn't super strong like other motors. I am running it on a stand with muffs. It's cooling fine but I expected a stronger stream. I blew out the hose with compressed air but not much...

    Timing question 70 hp

So does anyone know if the official video from omc showing timing and sync for 1987 and newer 3 cylinder motors would be close enough for my 1986 70 hp? Seems the same except my throttle cam has 2 marks. Here's the video in question.

    Timing question 70 hp

It's hitting full advance stopper with the carbs barely open. I ordered a manual I'll have to give the adjusting a try

    Timing question 70 hp

I posted a few posts ago about an 1986 evinrude 3 cylinder 70 hp I am refreshing. I didn't see it run before purchase but it has great potential. I'm stumped about the max timing stopper. I noticed when I move the throttle arm (the big arm the control cable mounts to) the ignition plate moves...

I guess as a test I can take the link rod off the throttle arm and check the range of motion of the plate
