1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

Looking at your pic with the motor in the bucket.....water needs to be well above the cavitation plate (4-6 inches) for the pump to work right. That could be the problem with that one. The other one, maybe the muffs not sealing good?

1995 force 70 hp ignition help

Well at least it was YOU who pulled the trigger on the "Parts Cannon" and not some shady repair shop trying to get in your wallet......you fixed the problem yourself and now have a new ignition system.....trouble-shooting is the preferred method but sometimes you get lucky throwing parts at...

1984 force 125 low compression question?

All the mating surfaces will need to be sealed.....or it will leak. High heat RTV will be good.....just don't get crazy with it.....any excess will squeeze out and could clog up the water passages.....

What is this part called on Force 125

There is no idle timing spec on Force engines....timing is set at WOT. Yamaha is a different animal.... Might want to fact check your info before stating that somebody else's info is wrong.....(y)

1984 force 125 low compression question?

Head gasket is put on dry.....if you removed the head cover it will need to be sealed with RTV, as there is no gasket there. Glad you didn't run out and buy a new fuel pump, as was mentioned earlier.....Lol.

1984 force 125 low compression question?

If it works (pees water out) I would leave it be.....gives you a visual that your water pump is working. A lot of owners have added a telltale if it didn't come with one originally.

    Charging Voltage, '97 Suburban

I have dual batteries on my truck....passenger side has 2 positive cables and had the same problem keeping them tight. I got rid of the crappy GM battery bolts and used 3/8 course thread bolts/nuts to secure the cables. Works really well and no problems since.....thought I would pass this...

1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

The impeller spins clockwise .....this pic is what it should look like from underneath.....with impeller mounted in the housing, flip it over and slide down the shaft and engage the key in the slot. The carb leaking from that hole......could be the float needle not shutting the fuel off and...

1984 force 125 low compression question?

Well, I believe jerry knows what he is talking about....and I agree with him that the fuel pump will not cause loss of compression like the OP is seeing......that's my take on it.

1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

The torque spec for the pump housing bolts is 70 IN LBS....or about 6 FT LBS....think maybe you cranked it down too hard?

    spin-on gas filter

If the filter will be totally exposed, then roscoe is right.....the all metal spin on would be the better choice.....and fuel flow shouldn't be a problem either.
