1962 Evinrude 40hp Lower Unit Leak?

BRP markets the Oil now as Precision Blend. Beware though that there are a few Brands on the Market that claim to be Type C, but are not compatible with the Electric Shift. You have used new Washers on the Drain/Fill and Vent Screws, every time you replace them? They have been known to leak...

    cupped prop question

If an Uncupped Prop has a Cup added, then yes, the load on the Engine Increases. A 17" prop plus Cup is 17" plus cup(whatever it is). A new cupped Prop, might indeed be 17" cup included Depending on where the Cup is located, is also a factor. Cup on the Trailing Edge, affects Pitch, whilst Cup...

Sand getting into Suzuki 20hp outboard - can I pull it out?

In the 70s we used to run WOT with the Prop leaving 6 inch troughs in the Sand Bars in order to get to the Shore at our Lake. Skeg and Prop Blades were worn, but the Water Pump and Impeller, looked fine when taken apart for Inspection and Impeller replacement. Water Pickup was in the Exhaust...

    1969 buick 225 oddfire

The Vacuum Pot can be removed and the Breaker Plate for the points/sensor fixed in place, however the Jeep distributor would be illegal on a boat, unless it was modified and certified to be USCG compliant

    1969 buick 225 oddfire

If the Springs are tired, the weights and pins are also likely worn, which all together affects the Rate of Advance as well as the Total Advance. The pricey One-off Marine Distributor with the correct Timing Curve might be the better choice

    1969 buick 225 oddfire

Unlikely. I suspect the Aftermarket will be focused mainly on the Chev SB and BB, along with some Ford engines.

Prop nut for Merc 25 hp?

Might have something to do with the SS prop having greater mass, and thus more inertia,

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Increasing the ISO, iphones and other cell phones do it automatically(DSLR and Mirrorless can be configured for it), doesn't increase the sensor's sensitivity. All it does is amplify what the sensor sees, it also amplifies any noise the sensor is creating.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

It take your eyes about 30 minutes to fully adapt to darkness, as for the the image sensor sensitivity, it is less sensitive than the human eye, but does have the advantage of being like a pool, it can let the Photons of Light accumulate over time, which the Eye can't

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

BRP Engine Cleaner or Mercury's Engine Tuner, are 2 of the better Ring unstickers in 2 strokes. CRC gdi ivd intake valve cleaner is also really good for that too. Place the piston high up in the cylinder to cover the Ports, and spray in a couple teaspoonfuls, and let it sit for a couple of days

    1980 110(9.8) hp Mercury outboard

On larger engines, almost all the timing advance is in before the carb is even cracked off of idle, and then once max advance has happened, does the carb start to open. However smaller engines(less than 20hp), might open the carb a bit sooner. On almost all 2 stroke outboards, idle speed is set...
