Throttle stop screw, you are referring to the one that limits the retarding of the timing?

The Carb should be fully closed at the Start Position of the Throttle. What exactly are you adjusting when you say you adjusted the Idle Speed?

    Fishing with Dad

Last time I fished with my dad was in 1974. That was pretty much the last time I fished, cause he had told me I now had to clean what I caught, and since I always tossed my cookies, I hung up the pole.

XD100 Full Synthetic Light Amber Color

BRP's Official Literature Bans It from Non-DFI Engines From a parts counter, service department, and legal standpoint, XD100 is strictly designated for Direct Injection (DFI) engines. BRP’s official parts catalog and bottle labels explicitly guide users away from carbureted applications. [1, 2...

XD100 Full Synthetic Light Amber Color

That was in 2018, I read that. I remember dealing with a guy that was determined to buy the stuff, for his non DFI engine, eventually I rang the sale, but with a Caveat on the Receipt that the Oil was not for non DFI engines

XD100 Full Synthetic Light Amber Color

Maybe BRP changed the XD100, but I recall the label stating it wasn't to be mixed in with the gas(which would include VRO/MRO, and Mercs mixing system). It was engineered for use in the DFI engines

Upgrade to 4bbl, what about throttle cable bracket?

I have never had to continuously 'tweak' a Holley Carb, or a Q-jet. Those Carter/Weber/Edelbrock, they are a different story altogether.

    Aluminum vs stainless props

What is the WOT Range for your motor, and what rpm are you currently getting with it? As mentioned above, a SS Prop can and will place far greater stress on the Drivetrain, when the prop contacts obstacles, as it refuses to yield. As for speed increases, if the SS is pretty much identical to the...

Why different gear ratios in Merc V6 motors.

Reduces the Range of Prop Pitches needed. If the 1.87 case wasn't introduced, I suspect pitches in the 28" to 32" range would have had to be added the prop lines

Great day on the water yesterday

The Mountains have a look similar to a lot of the Canadian Rockies, which are about 400kms from where I live. The Rockies are relatively young Mountains too, but on the side closer to me, are the remnants of old worn down Mountains. Most of the 400kms between the Rockies and my Home, if it...

Great day on the water yesterday

Fragile Ecosystem I suspect. One good thing about a complete Ban, is that there are no Wakeboard Boats on it. The Mountains in the background, appear to be quite recent, being sharp and jagged
