Ok a question about points systems….

Well that’s interesting it still tested fine with the resistance test but when I hooked up the spark tested to the plug wire the spark would die as soon a the throttle was opened. When hooking up the tach I noticed it was too hot to keep my hand on it. Even after testing the fuel pump (Fine) and...

    Stratos trailer

No numbers but you can figure out the capacity by inspecting the trailer bearings (#s) and tires. Then weigh the trailer and subtract that from the capacity of the running gear; that will give you the weight it can carry. 5 lug axles are usually 3500 lbs but not always. So it’s important to check.

I’m wondering why there’s like .010” difference in length? GM did so many odd things like mixing SAE & metric fittings it’s not surprising. I guess try to get the ones for the head you bought measure what you have & compare. Adjustment of preload might make up any difference. A machine shop guy...

One thing you could do: look up those parts in a mercruiser parts manual online. See if the part numbers are the same for the years 91-95 for the pushrods and rockers.

the main reason I'd have taken them is to check the pushrod length against the original ones.

I’d like to saw yes to your questions but do t know for sure 100%. If that casting # falls in the same date Range as the original I’d say yes. And I’d take the pushrods rockers and retaining nuts as well,

If you can look at fuel trims when it's running that might give you some clues, also look at upstream O2 sensor voltage readings.

best way to rejuvinate your cars headlight lenses ?

Agreed polish lasts for a while but unless you coat them with the urethane clear it doesn't last more than a year. I just replace them with aftermarket, Crown for my 2007 Jeep less than half the price of OEM. my old 98 Jeep can use Crown aftermarket glass ECE H-4 headlights that never fade and...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 EFI/TBI Scan Tool

That diagram reminds me of what you had to do to pull codes from the EFI system on a late 80s Toyota....paper clip trick and turn on ignition, the check engine light would blink out a code, that was what you got!
