Looking for a little bigger ski

Re: Looking for a little bigger ski What part of the country are you in? Unfortunately I've got no info on any of the skis you are asking about.

    Ooh, new toy

Re: Ooh, new toy I removed the wing this morning and it really did seem to make a difference in the way it felt. I was able to hit all 6 twice (28MPH @15 off). It was only my second day in the course this year so I was pretty happy with that result. With any luck I'll get to try again next Tuesday.

Can you wakesurf behind any boat? Even if it means holding the rope?

Re: Can you wakesurf behind any boat? Even if it means holding the rope? No, it wouldn't change my opinion because if you are actually wake surfing then you are hanging out in the shredding zone of an I/O Average wake surfing is a foot or so off the deck, if you are talking about 12 feet off...

    Ooh, new toy

I'm an intermediate skier on a good day and I've been switching between a 69" KD powercarve and a 69" Obrien Evidence for the past bunch of years. They are extremely forgiving since I'm about 180 and they are way oversized for my weight. Been trying to get good enough to get into a course and...

3.0L vs 4.3L motor mount locations

I'm pretty sure the answer is keep dreaming, but does anyone know if the standard 3.0L mounting is the same as a 4.3L mounting location?

Sold my boat, need help on an upgrade - primary wakeboarding.

Re: Sold my boat, need help on an upgrade - primary wakeboarding. This is one more reason that I'm shying away from the V-drive option right now. We tend to beach our boat a lot, and with an inboard you have to worry about the fins. (Ignore the ice fin, that was the result of some freaky MN...

    Tougher spare carrier

Broke another one of these yesterday, the 400 miles of towing a few weeks ago must have vibrated it enough to crack it at the welds. Fulton Hi-Mount, Bolt-On Spare Tire Carrier STC1000101 - iboats Anyone ever used this one or have another alternative that will hold up? F2 Heavy Duty Trailer...

Might be time for a new boat

My 05 Bayliner is in nearly mint condition, space wise it is fine but as the kids have gotten older and heavier (and I've just gotten older) I'm having a tougher time getting up on 1 ski behind it. Its fine once up but the little 3.0L just hasn't got as much power as I'd like. If I could just...

Repair to damaged Skeg advice for new owner

Re: Repair to damaged Skeg advice for new owner Ordered one up from iBoats and it showed up today. Pretty simple install, use the grinder to clean up the burs on the bottom of the skeg, fit the skeggard and drill a couple holes. About 15 minutes for the whole operation. Maybe when I replace...

bought boat, cracked block, legal recourse?

Re: bought boat, cracked block, legal recourse? If it is under the manifold - first make sure that one of those 2 blue hoses is still connected to the manifold. Also make sure that someone actually rehooked up the single point drain and the 2 hoses are not just sitting down in the bilge.

1985 Ski Supreme rear tow hook (In Need Of)

Re: 1985 Ski Supreme rear tow hook (In Need Of) I guess if it were me and I cared about it that much, I'd look up every 85 ski supreme that is currently for sale on the internet and offer the guy $100 to take the hook off of it. Here is a little better picture of what I think you are looking for:

It a miracle - or not

Getting ready to put the boat in tomorrow for the first time this year. Put it away just before Halloween and this will be the latest we have ever been in. Changed the plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fuel filter and oil. Cranked it a couple times and once the fuel system filled back up, it started...

anticipating next year. Boat and tow vehicle purchases.

Re: anticipating next year. Boat and tow vehicle purchases. What kind of weight are you talking about? The one thing you have going in your favor is how flat it is in the area you are traveling. Can't imagine going all the way to Marco to launch a boat if you are in Miami. Are there that few...

Need everyones thoughts on my "rear bench" project

Re: Need everyones thoughts on my "rear bench" project My .02 I'd set it up so that there is a notch that holds the seat in the back and then a couple of straps with snaps in the front. Then you can just undo the snaps, slide the seat forward and remove it completely.

    Weld broke off trailer

Re: Weld broke off trailer I've got a lot of welding equipment, and there is no reliable way to repair a tinfoil 14ft trailer once it breaks - rusty or not. If you look at the picture it is not really a weld that broke, the frame rail tore and deformed.

Found our used pontoon, test drove and now confused

Re: Found our used pontoon, test drove and now confused So is this a Quadtoon? ;) We've got a pontoon, and around here it is a pontoon, a runabout, a ski boat or a wakeboard boat - and then there is the catchall - fishin boat which describes something that is not adequate for any of the above ;)
