Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)
Thanks man! Just trying to make it look Purdy!
Thanks JB! --- Doubler for the console is a good idea. 1.5" should be enough to hold that console and side seat in place! (3/4" floor!)
Removable clamshell for pirate attacks... hadn't thought of that one!
Thanks Glen! Yup 1/2" pink foam. As soon as I added wood it was near impossible to bend. So I added the foam, and will just glue the vinyl to it and then staple it down the center where I added a 2 pieces of 1/2" ply about 3" wide from front to back. Just wanted it a bit thicker to give the clamshell a more substantial look given that it doesn't tuck under a dash pad like yours does.
Have great day fella's!

Wow, very interesting, very cool!:joyous:

jbcurt00 - Might add a doubler cleat below deck to attach the console to as well. If only along the port side. Attached to the starboard gunwale.
Liking how it's coming together.... Good looking.

Thanks GA! Ya been debating whether to leave it open underneath or add some much needed storage! Kids really want a back rest --- so that'll be in there as well!GA_Boater - You do good things with "lipstick and mascara, Jim. The console seat will be nice storage, so a double win.
Maybe you should make the clamshell easily removable - Could make a good shield in case pirates attack.

dozerII - The design is looking real good, Jim, what did you add to the bottom of the Clam shell, it looks like pink foam?
