LOL!

All the weight I took out in wet foam and wood, is slowly being added back in extras! I was hoping the boat would be lighter then before, but probably not. How much does wet foam weigh?

Hey, doncha know it's not polite to ask foam how much it weighs. You might get slapped.

LOL, ya, all that old foam is long gone! Was pretty waterlogged though, I remember chipping it out with a claw hammer, and constantly getting squirted in the face with water.

Well, thank you for the kind words! Ya just got to keep rolling on it, otherwise its too easy to slip behind and ignore it. Have you started a thread on yours? Id love to see pics!

Got my transom halves glued together today, will fill the screw holes tomorrow and start glassing the transom tomorrow as well.

Did you use this to laminate your transom pieces together?

Working on the Boat again today. Got the seat mounts in, and the ski pole mount done, battery mount PB'd in-place, as well as PB'd some wood blocks up to the underside of the gunnel to attach wire mounts too.

Ski Pole mount

Underside, the holes got filled with PB to lock the bolts into place, I also notched two sides of the hole to create a spot for the PB to go so to lock it in place so it has no chance of turning.

I can't believe what people do in boats! The way the Ski Pole was mounted before, it was just screwed into the deck with no sealant!! And they just used Drywall Screws, they were pretty much rusted to nothing.

Seat mounts, the base's will fit perfectly over these blocks, once the seats are over these blocks, I'll then screw cleats that go over the mounting blocks on the seat base.

I say just screw the buckets down and call it done. Bucket seats - LOL!

The seat mounts look good. I had been thinking of using two strips of wood, but the square block makes a lot of sense. Do you plan on glassing over them, or coating them with something?

No I'm not going to glass over them, I made them a perfect fit in the seat base, I then smeared PB over the edges so they were smooth and to not absorb water, I'll likely seal around the seat base, so no water will get in there. They'll last a long time!

I did glass over the ski pole mount though, since its exposed.

Thanks Wood, my dad is coming over again tonight to help finish the wiring! Once that is done, all I have to do is install the bilge and splash well drains, and paint the deck out, and install the outboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOOOOO HOOOOO.

Oh, I also got the battery mount glassed in as well.

Re: 1964 Johnson Tri-Hull restore!

Got a little more done the past couple days. Got the rubrail on, need to pick up a little more hardware for that. Got the bilge and splash-well drains drilled and epoxied, I ended up epoxying a plastic pipe in the bilge drain, and the garbord drain will seal into that leaving no exposed wood!! Now just have to sand out a few areas on the hull I just filled with some fiberglass reinforced filler, seeing that I am not painting the boat, should I at least prime the repaired areas? and with what?
