Well no splash today. Was busy this morning, and had a barbecue for fathers day, afternoon was really windy, so I didn't bother. Try again tomorrow.

Well the boat officially got wet today!!!!! Everything went very well. Video is processing now! Will take a bit to upload.

The boat looks to be sitting 3-4" higher in the water now!!!!!!!!!!

I could get it to just go 40mph if trimmed out a bit.

Fantastic!

Thanks guys. Seems to handle way better, boat feel much more solid now, not flimsy like before, corners a little better, not sure if that because of the weight loss??? Maybe the hydrofoil helped? The prop still slips though if your heavy handed on the throttle. Video is uploading now.

Your welcome! Thanks. I'm pretty happy about it!! Finally glad to have this big monkey off my back!

Kids are really excited now, they were a little disappointed when I told them I went to the lake today while they were in school. But it had to be done!

Just picked up a couple items. The guy at the marine store I go is really great, gave me a new sorta used speedometer for $20 so it matches my Tachometer, Now they are both Honda guages LOL, but in reality its a Faria gauge. The gauges came with a new motor, that didn't get used, so their never used, but sitting around a while, the tach has a digital hour meter, which is cool. Also got a couple fittings for the fuel tanks, one leaks under pressure when the hose is not on, and another gallon of oil.

:) Awesome. She rides very nice in the water. You get rid of that prop slip, maybe squeak a couple more mph out of her. Nice job, man, very nice. :)

Thanks my fellow Canauck! Yes I love the way this boat rides in the water! SOOO stable! You can stand 3 guys on the side and it hardly tips, great for swimming off of.

Very nice job! I thought i worked hard on mine! Funny cuz i did my test ride yesterday too, on the Fraser next to YVR. Do you use your boat on lakes only or do you take it along the coast as well?

Again, job well done!

Thanks. Just the local lakes. So far I've only taken it to Elk Lake, its the only one close by that you can take power boats on, and its less then 10minutes from my house.

Re: 1964 Johnson Tri-Hull restore!

Ok, just got back from tubing! Took the kids out for a couple hours. All went well. Except I just cant live with this prop slip problem, its worse when towing a large tube, I really think I need more down trim, with all the way down trim the outboard it still trimmed up doesn't even sit square with the transom, it chews through much more fuel I think cause its always running at higher rpm, if I go in a straight line for a bit then you can feel the prop finally bite in and the rpms drop by over 500rpm. So question is, I 5200'd the mount bolts in, and now with the thicker transom, if I put back in the wedge plates the top bolts are too short, so I need to put in longer bolts, so I guess just undo the bolts, but how to get off the residual so I can put in new stuff? I've heard the stuff sticks very well, and hard to get off.

I just wanted to take a minute and say thanks for this entire thread. its hard to spend hours reading instead of working on my boat but just as many answers came from reading this as from me posting questions. your restoration turned out excellent. i hope mine goes as well.
best wishes,
scott
