Re: 1964 Johnson Tri-Hull restore!
Ok, just got back from tubing! Took the kids out for a couple hours. All went well. Except I just cant live with this prop slip problem, its worse when towing a large tube, I really think I need more down trim, with all the way down trim the outboard it still trimmed up doesn't even sit square with the transom, it chews through much more fuel I think cause its always running at higher rpm, if I go in a straight line for a bit then you can feel the prop finally bite in and the rpms drop by over 500rpm. So question is, I 5200'd the mount bolts in, and now with the thicker transom, if I put back in the wedge plates the top bolts are too short, so I need to put in longer bolts, so I guess just undo the bolts, but how to get off the residual so I can put in new stuff? I've heard the stuff sticks very well, and hard to get off.
