Was sitting on my duff tonight and thought I should be working so I screwed the cushions of the lounges all back together. Foward motion........ oh, got my foam for under the floor today too, folks at Menards were happy to see me as usual.

Well of course its from menards. Lol

Um, Is your flotation 1 color? Will you have to cut it length wise? Does it come in a box?
To compete with Jas he would have had to visit the public land fill.

The coating/paint I'm putting the floor panels is my bottom feeder alternative to epoxy. The plan is coat the bottom and edges, screw it down, coat the topside to seal up all the mounting screws and. Then planning on putting marine vinyl flooring down to finish.

It is the pink foam board. But I might toss a couple tide jugs in for Jason.

ATF fluid jugs and Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner containers work great too.

Bottom feeders unite!!!!!

Sorry 'bout the job situation...see Memorial Weekend isn't out of the question now is it? Maybe you could be a stay at home Dad and flip SC's. You could do like one a month.....

Beautiful aren't they?:D

(On a serious note, disclaimer: I would never again use soap bottles sub deck, they were simply a pain to fit. Only in that gigantic empty space at the very bow does it make sense for me anyway.)

Re: 1978 Starcraft Holiday 18 Rebirth

Got all my floor pieces cut yesterday and got a coat of my special polyurethane rubber paint sealant stuff on the bottom and sides, not sure what its called but my buddy uses it to waterproof cement, its industructable and works great on the wood. I found my test piece that I coated last year while doing the Falcon, it sat outside since then and it was still sealed up tight.

Sounds like you need to ask your buddy what this paint is called and where to get it.
Could be a winner for those that need to coat their decks and don?t like the price of the other stuff. Wonder if you could use it on a transom replacement?
Your project is looking great. You might be splashing it soon.
Sorry to here about your job loss. Been there, done that, and survived, you will too.

Hi there! Great looking project.

I wanted to touch base with you about your trailer. It looks like the same brand as one I brought home recently (side note: I bought a package with a boat, trailer, and engine. The boat is junk, but I mainly got it for the trailer and engine. More importanly, I expect to buy a '57 StarCraft to go on the trailer soon!). I think mine might have a lighter axle/hubs on it though since it has smaller wheels that are only 4 lug.

Is yours a Rolco? Mine's a '78 (according to the title) Rolco. Seems to be constructed well. I have the same double-tube longitudianal pieces and the same fenders as yours has. The fenders on mine aren't suitable for standing on...yet. I was thining about doing some welding to beef them up.

Were the rollers standard items when you replaced them?

Thanks!
Clem

Hey Clem, my trailer is the same brand. For the rollers I had to buy 3 12" straight rollers and cut them downto get 6 5"" rollers. Best of luck on your project.

Glovit is drying (I didnt post pics, I didnt want everyone falling out of their chairs because of those exciting pictures). That quart can was juuuuuust enough to do the whole boat.

Last night I ordered my Nautolex for the floor, my new Starcraft decals for the side, a dozen LED lighted switches and ten 9inch 24 LED strips that Im going to tuck under the edges for interior lighting. Found those on eBay, figured $25 for 10 lights was worth a go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120500752914&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I'll be watching for a review on those light strings buddy. I have yet to make decisions on my under gunwale lighting and such.

I am a loser, I like watching Gluvit dry. There I said it.

Re: 1978 Starcraft Holiday 18 Rebirth

So you get 10 strips of 24 bulbs? Am I reading that right? Sounds like a sweet deal.

Thats how Im reading it, pretty sure of it cause you could order all differant numbers and they had differant sizes also. I didnt really need 10 but it was only like $5 more to go from 5 strips to 10 strips. The company is from Hong Kong but they have 80,000 transactions so I figured it was safe. Thats who I got my switches from also. Gonna take a week or two to get them but I will hook one up as soon as I get em and give a report.
