Re: 1979 Imperial

Try a couple of tips to keep from losing roller nap in your paint...

Apply some sticky tape to the nap and rip it off, till no more nap comes off or you end up with a bald roller...:facepalm:

Use JL's fine wire hair brush to comb the nap free of loose fibers, just don't tell him you used his brush...maybe even brush him first to keep some of his hairs from getting in the paint...:p

Bugs and dust, you are on your own there, sorry...

You could also use one of those mini wire brushes...

I did roll n' roll on the transom of my boat using Easypoxy. Worked fine for me. Never used Intelux so can't speak from experience, but I do KNOW that you need to wait for the paint to level out a bit. Then re-roll LIGHTLY and LISTEN for the "Sticky" sound and LOOK for the bubbles to go flat. Keep the roller as Dry as possible. If it's picking up very much paint you're Re-rolling to soon or pushing down to hard.

Re: 1979 Imperial

Okay bruthas...

I think I got it now! Thanks for all the tips!

10% thinner by volume into 1000 mL epoxy. Let induction go for 1/2 hour. Stir gently! 3/16 nap for application first roll out. Actually for this product, second roll out with fine foam roller worked better with 2 min for leveling rather than 5. I'll do two more coats and is should be good to go! Keel guard and bow scuff plate install, and flip this mutha this weekend!

Thanks again for the coaching!

Re: 1979 Imperial

Hey bruthas,

Besides the Keel Guard, and Scuff Plate, I'm finished with the bottom. 5 coats of Interlux VC bottom epoxy...

Other than some orange peel, and some other minor stuff she looks good!
