The only drawback is my limited knowledge of colorful descriptives to try and convey to you how incredibly, fantastically, superbly, awesomely a job, you have done...looks killer...Kudos!

SP, thanks for getting me thinking. I went back and (like I should have before I taped it off  ) and here is a photo with a good angle showing that the gel coat just wrapped around a little farther than I went. that darker line you see is a shadow.

Ok, today we finaly got her flipped back over and put the side back on the cradle. Prior to that I put some cross members on the underside of the cradle to support the bottom and padded anything that might come in contact with the hull with carpet.

I think she looks even better right side up.

Jr's puttin the cradle back together.. (he makes me so proud!)

We measured and clamped the right width for the hull before we locked the cradle sides down.

She's looking good. Good to see your son working so hard with you.
I have 3 daughters and I couldn't even begin to get one of them to lay on the floor for me. LOL
Keep up all the good work. Getting closer to splash now.

I don't have to get him to lay on the floor  if it involves using power tools he about shoves me out of the way, lol I guess I raised him right :)

I've been following along, but just wanted to drop in and say nice work on the paint.... Comparing the before and after pictures is really something....

P.S. Did Wood just announce his splash on your thread? Off to the Blue Flamingo thread to see what's up that.

Re: 1982 Sylvan Bassboat project

I know you are not going to see this for a few days, possibly until you get back home, but while it is still fresh in my brain...

I just wanted to say what a treat it was to have you and your BIL, pop by for a visit...

It kind of made the Iboats community feel so real to me, I just don't know how to properly express what a cool feeling it was to make your aquaintance...

I hope the rest of your stay here in the Sunshine State has been as enjoyable for you and your wife, as it was for me to meet you...My apologies to your wife for missing out on the cuban coffee and steak sandwich...next time you are in the neighborhood, we have got to make plans for a longer more touristy stay for the both of you.

I also hope that Tom-Tom didn't get you too lost, while doing the local sightseeing...

Looking forward to the "picture of proof";)

Now get to some serious "glassin"...

As always, Best Regards,
Gus

Gus, I've tried to reply 3 times off some borrowed internet and it sucks! had a great time. Loved the authentic lunch. here's the proof that we hooked up, lol

In case anyone wonders, Gus (GT1M) is the good lookin one on the left!

Gus, hooked us up at the marine supply store like he owned the place. I just wish I had more room to take more back with me. Next instead of taking the easy way out with some chain restaurant, he took us to one of his favorite places. A local Cuban deli! All I can say is WOW!!!! that was an awesome lunch. Then we got to go actually check out the Bassassin and what used to be the blue elephant. So cool to actually see this rebuild in person. I felt like I knew every inch of her already. Gus, you are a great host! You are very much a part of what makes iBoats a close community.

I have a ton more to say but, before I loose my borrowed internet one more time, I'll go. I can't wait to get home and update everyone on our soon to be progress.

Thanks Gus! It was worth the drive just to meet you!
