Re: 22' bluefin rebuild with some pics

not much getting done, the shop where i need to build my consoles is super busy, and i kinda need the consoles to continue on with other stuff. I posted my layout on my console thread, but i figured i would put it here also......just for my fans:D

Im really hoping to get my gunwales covered this week, and my rub rail track back on. That way as soon as the consoles are made, i can get my wiring done and slap that windshield on!

Update, got the top and sides of my gunwales covered, and started putting the rub rail track back on. Clamps really came in handy with this! On the ext tracks, i went through putting everyother rivot in, the backtracked filling in rivots dipped in 5200.

On a totally different note, for several years ive been driving past a house not too far from me with several boats in the drivewayan yard. Well last week i was going by and there was a guy out working on one of them so i decided to stop and say hey. After talking boats and fishing for an hour or more i had to leave to get to a dr appointment, but not after checking out a trollong motor that he had for sale. Well, i stopped back on fri to really check it out and it found itself a ride in the back of my truck! Welcome to your new home little buddy!

How do you guys think that looks on the front?

Looking good Bucky!

Are you going to be able to get her on the water for the fall Walleye run?

Decided to build a minideck/storage/seat in the bow.
Here is the framing (its upside down). i wrapped the bottom of it with leftover vinyl strips to help protect it from moisture.

roughed up my piece of aluminum for carpet prep

little clamp action to encourage the adhesives!

cutting out the seat/lid, notice the quality ext grade ply from homo depot:facepalm:

Re: 22' bluefin rebuild with some pics

that little setback required some gorilla glue and all of the clamps i believe that i own! I felt like i was doing a dry run on building a new transom lol!
IMAG0629.jpg

installed with newly glued and painted seat
IMAG0631.jpg

kinda hard to see in the pic, but my tolerance is perfect for hatch to open and get max room available for storage
IMAG0632.jpg

As i was sitting there admiring my math skills from way back when i was laying out the decking for hatches and whatnot, irealized i never put all of the hardware back on the front deck before installing this bench:facepalm: It was hard enough to get my big ace to the thru bolts to take the stuff off while laying on the deck, now i only have like 8" to work with! Im not real happy about that one!
If i rambled too much and lost you, these are the items i need to reinstall now

Lookin' good Bucky!

You'll have fun mounting that hardware now... you must've been thinkin' about Ohio football when you got sacked on the hardware eh?!:p J/K

Are we goin' to be able to catch a Wall-ice outta that thing this fall, or are we going to have to wait for ice-out spring opener?

im gonna say itll be spring jig bite. With all three of my boys playing football in 3 different age groups, there isnt much extra time to run up to erie. That, compiled with duck season just around the corner consuming all free time that we arent playing games or at practices. Also, I would really like to run it on some local lakes to work out any bugs before going out on mother Erie!

Re: 22' bluefin rebuild with some pics

clamped and stapled the poop out of the carpet on the lid!
IMAG0634.jpg

installed with some leftover stainless hinges. Man is that carpet "poofy" when it is new! Made it a little tough to fit in the way i wanted it to, and im sure itll take a few days for the memory of the clamps to go away!
